Who would have thought that you could play a game about chopping trees? Human creativity never ceases to amaze me. Developer Space Raccoon Game Studio has released their latest title on PC, and it’s called A Game About Chopping Trees!

It’s the second game from the studio, following The Mosquito Gang. They went in the complete opposite direction this time by creating something that lets players slow down, breathe, and enjoy the simple satisfaction of a job well done.

A Game About Chopping Trees lets you play solo or jump into two-player co-op. It’s a chill game. You just wander through peaceful forests, chop down trees, and improve your equipment. The simple act of cutting wood is the main attraction.

You hear the crack of the wood as huge trees split apart and fall beneath your axe. As you keep working through the forest, you earn money that you can use to improve your chopping skills. You can upgrade your axe, strengthen your grip or swing, unlock new tools, and sharpen your axe even further.

And when it’s time to head somewhere new, you hop aboard a handcar and pump the levers yourself as you glide along quiet railway tracks through peaceful scenery. The trip between work sites is as relaxing as chopping the trees themselves.

Even though it’s about cutting trees, A Game About Chopping Trees doesn’t just have you clearing forests forever. After you’ve finished chopping down an area, you can plant new saplings where the old trees stood. Then you get to watch those tiny sprouts slowly grow back into towering trees over time.

If you’re playing alone, the single-player mode is all about unwinding at your own pace and enjoying the rhythm of a woodsman’s life. Meanwhile, the two-player co-op mode lets you and a friend share those quiet logging sessions together. So, check out the game on Steam.
