New Worms Crazy Golftrailer shows off the Britannia Course

Team 17 Software has released a new trailer for Worms Crazy Golf that showcases the Britannia Course. TheBritannia Coursetrailer reveals rolling hills and playful sheep – although, all is not quite as idyllic as it seems…

Deep in the heart of the “Sceptred Isle” sits a lush green golf course laden with fiendish trickery such as ball launching cannons, conveying castles, mischievous moles, roving cable cars and angry golf-loathing old ladies that have a tendency to redistribute your ball.

Worms Crazy Golf launches later this year for PC, iPhone/iPad, and the PlayStation 3’s PlayStation Network.

Team 17 announces Worms Crazy Golf

Everyone’s favorite garden invertebrates are back in Worms Crazy Golf, a mash-up of the traditional 2D strategy gameplay of the Worms series with 18-hole hijinks.

Worms Crazy Golf

With many fan-favourite features from the Worms universe such as the sheep, old woman, mole, magnets, mines and crazy chain reactions making an appearance, Worms Crazy Golf looks like it’s going to be anything but a straight simulation.

Set across three surreal 18-hole golf courses plus a diverse range of skill-based challenge modes, you’ll be challenged by increasingly puzzling hole design and an array of obstacles; from castles that teleport your ball, cannons that shoot it across the landscape and even obstructive comedy bats. Only skilful shot execution and clever use of special powers such as the parachute ball, or the ability to slow time down will see you hit par and progress to the next hole.

“We’ve had a great deal of fun playing the game in multiplayer during development,” Team 17 Head of Design John Dennis, “and with four-player social multiplayer support, it has all the hallmarks of the Worms brand: the trash-talking, pressure to make the shot, terribly unhelpful ‘advice’ from opponents, and often hilarious consequences when that risky shot that could have won the game goes terribly wrong. If players get half as much enjoyment out of it as we’ve already had, then we’ll be very, very happy.”

Worms Crazy Golf will launch later this year for PC on Steam, as well as iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and the PlayStation 3’s PlayStation Network.
