Talking Tom isn’t just a fun cuddly character to ‘talk’ to in game any more – he’s also keen for action! That’s the case when it comes to Outfit7’s Talking Tom Pool. Playing kind of like a game of pool but set in a swimming pool full of floaties, players have to match up various Talking Tom characters. This is done through an Angry Birds style ‘pull back and release’ mechanic, but Talking Tom Pool can be a little trickier than that.

That’s where Gamezebo is on hand to guide you through what you need to know, courtesy of our Talking Tom Pool Tips, Cheats and Strategies.

Getting to Grips

Talking Tom Pool Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Talking Tom Pool is a lot like pool, and we don’t just mean the swimming pool variety. To move any of the floaties, you pull back on one then release in whatever direction you want to send it.
  • You’re able to manipulate the power involved by dragging back further. In the early stages, you’ll almost certainly always use maximum power and it won’t really affect much. Later though, you’re going to need to be a bit more accurate.
  • Use the early stages to prepare and get used to tweaking the power manually.

Checking Things Over

Talking Tom Pool Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Take a look at the pool before you make any moves. Starting out, you want to focus on whichever color you have the fewest floaties of. Typically, it’s the simplest strategy as you can focus on wiping out the 3 yellow ones before tackling the 5 pink ones, for instance.
  • Alternatively, are any floaties very easy to match up? Focus on those first of all. There’s really no need to make life harder for yourself so you might as well start with the simple stuff.
  • Some levels are set up so that certain floaties almost have to be cleared in order to open up others. Adjust accordingly.

Honing Your Pool Skills

Talking Tom Pool Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Talking Tom Pool is a game of pool, don’t forget. That means that bank shots are crucial to your chances.
  • You only have so many moves in which to try to clear all the floaties, meaning every shot needs to count.
  • Bank shots are all about propelling a floaty at an angled wall so it bounces/banks off, and shoots off in a completely different direction. The physics in Talking Tom Pool are pretty intuitive meaning there’s ample opportunity to make this work for you.
  • This is also where how powerful the shot is makes a huge difference. If you overshoot or hit the wall too hard, it can cause an adverse response.
  • Don’t just fling your floaties without thinking about it. Plan ahead and work out exactly where you’d like a remaining floaty to be at the end of your move.

Advanced Tips

  • Despite what you may think, you can use another shot while your last shot is still playing out. You don’t have to wait for the floaty to come to a rest.
  • This is an ideal strategy to use if you’ve just messed up your first shot and you want to try to make up for it with a quick second shot while it’s still moving. It can be tricky to do, but if you pull it off just right, it can make a big difference.
  • It’s another tactic that’s good to practice early on when mistakes are less punishing.

Restoring the Pool

Talking Tom Pool Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Talking Tom Pool is low on substantial content other than the core game. That means you can use your keys to restore any part of the water park you want. It really doesn’t matter what you do here as everything is for cosmetic effect. Keep at it, and you’ll be able to restore the whole park anyhow.
  • Similarly, you can use coins or watch an ad to unlock a new character, but this doesn’t actually change much other than who’s wandering around your water park.
  • Bizarrely, currently, the only way to get more coins is to buy them. You can’t earn them in game. Don’t worry about this. They’re far from essential for your progression within the game. They’re just for buying cute cosmetic stuff.

Know your Obstacles and Power Ups

  • Ice cubes play a prominent part in numerous levels. Some are simply in your way while others contain floaties that need to be unlocked. Smash in to them a couple of times to do the job.
  • Fling into a chilli pepper and you’ll go flying around the pool at great speed. It’s an ideal tactic if you want to cause chaos or simply wipe out a lot of floaties in one go.
  • Spinning things are your least favorite obstacle. Hit one and your floaty multiples into three floaties, exacerbating the situation. Oftentimes, you’d be best off using up a couple of moves to slowly get around the spinner, rather than risk touching one.
