Soul Tamer KiKi to tame souls on iOS this winter

Minoraxis certainly loves its RPGs. The company behind titles like Exitium, Fantastic Knight, and Fruit Juice Tycoon 2 has just revealed that it’s got another such title in the works: Soul Tamer KiKi.

The titular KiKi is a young woman who sets out to rescue her parents after they’ve been abducted. Along the way to accomplishing this quest, she’ll wind up becoming a great hero who defeats the Demon King. As you may have guessed, taming souls is a large part of her powers.

KiKi captures, tames and utilizes souls based on the Chinese Zodiac. As the game progresses, you gain access to the powers of the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. Once these souls are in your possession, you’ll have to take care of them, otherwise they might need you.

The game looks like it’s going to predominantly feature action RPG gameplay, but it’ll also include other elements. As KiKi pursues her quest, she’ll also be able to engage in activities like starting up ranches and farms, cooking outdoor meals, mining ore, gathering herbs, and raising animals.

The game’s store will also play a critical role in the overall experience. Not only will you be able to buy new gear/items, but you’ll also be able to use in-game gold to unlock secret quests for various locations in the game.

At the moment, Soul Tamer KiKi is finishing up its beta period and is expected to officially launch either later this month or in early January 2012.
