Slice it All is a game about, and this might come as a bit of a surprise, slicing it all. You’re flipping a knife into various piles of sliceable things. Pencils, anvils, pipes – y’know, the usual. It’s a pretty simple idea, but there are various layers to the experience you’re going to have to understand if you want to get the most out of it.

Luckily we’ve played a good chunk of the game and discovered plenty of its secrets. And we’ve put them into this here guide, which is packed full of the very best hints, tips and tricks we could dig up for Slice it All. We’re pretty pleased with it, even if we do say so ourselves.

Even if you’ve flipped a few knives in your time, you’re going to find something here that’s going to help you out. And for new players, well, this is some indispensable information. So, without further ado, here are the five best hints, tips and cheats for Slice it All.

Keep tapping to keep flipping

You need to keep the knife in the air, and to do that you need to keep tapping. One tap is one spin, and you need to balance movement with cutting. You can use the handle of the knife to get it to move backwards, bouncing it off obstacles to flip back and slice them. Practice that and you’re on to a winner.

Don’t touch the water

Touch the water and you’ll die. The light grey stone is okay to touch, but the water will bring your run to an end. After all, you can’t cut through water in any sort of useful way. Not with a knife anyway. You’ll also die if you fall down any big holes so, y’know, don’t do that either.

Dark grey panels are checkpoints

Sometimes you’re going to see dark grey panels sitting alone on plinths. These are checkpoints, so if you do die you’ll get dropped back here instead of at the start of life. Try and hit them whenever you can – dying is always frustrating, but less so when you don’t have to warp all the way back to the start.

Let the blade fall

It’s tempting to try and control the blade when it’s cutting through a long stack of items, but resist that temptation. Let it fall and you’ll slice through everything. You’re going to land safely and you’re going to score massive points, so keep your cool and let the knife do its work.

What are the coins for?

Right now it looks like the coins don’t actually do anything. They’re your score rather than a currency. So don’t get too frustrated if your final throw doesn’t end up getting you the best multiplier, since you’re not really missing out on anything.
