Tiger Woods is enjoying a fairytale return to form, and there’s at least a 30% chance that President Donald Trump, the most powerful man in the world, is actually on a golf course right now. It’s the game of the moment, which means Shot Online Golf: World Championship couldn’t have arrived at a better time.

The Shot Online franchise has been around since 2004–the same year that the Nintendo DS came out. That means it’s had well over a decade to build a loyal following in its native Korea and beyond.

Shot Online Golf: World Championship is the long-awaited mobile spin-off. It takes the Shot Online format, honed and perfected over many years, and translates it to touchscreen so that you can sneak in a few rounds wherever you happen to be.

Gamers in a number of territories have been fortunate enough to have access to Shot Online Golf for several months, as it underwent its all-important soft-launch testing period. Unfortunately, Europe and the US were all left out in the cold.

Until April 2nd, that is–the date of Shot Online Golf’s global launch.

If you’ve never played a round before, here’s what to expect. It’s an MMO, so there are always human opponents to take on.

You can do this through the Betting Challenge, which sees you placing down bets on yourself double or nothing. Or you can play a Short Game, competing with others to get the ball as close as possible to the pin, hit the longest tee shot, and sink putts.

The better you do, the more your rank increases, and as you progress through the game you’ll be able to level-up your clubs and outfits to tailor your character’s attributes around your playing style.

There’s a single-player mode, too. The Academy lets you play a round on a selection of gorgeous courses, unlocking new content, grabbing rewards, and even taking on bosses.

But multiplayer is where it’s at, and Shot Online Golf comes with its own gigantic well-trained community of dedicated fans. So you’d better get practising!

You can grab Shot Online Golf for free on Google Play and the App Store  right now.
