Might & Magic Heroes Online Preview

The Might and Magic IP has had its ups and downs throughout the years, but Ubisoft has managed to keep it afloat ever since they acquired it back in 2003. Since then, the company has proven themselves as not afraid to deviate from the framework of the original games, a decision that’s delivered us some pretty fantastic titles. Now, with Might & Magic Heroes Online, the series will see its first foray into the free-to-play browser space. I have it on good authority that both magic and might will be present.

Might & Magic Heroes Online

With the game, Ubisoft is hoping to pair the classic RPG elements of previous Might and Magic experiences with modern MMO elements. Players will be able to customize their own character and set out on quests throughout the world of Ashen, composed of a “multitude” of fantasy environments. Towns will serve as in-game hubs, where players can congregate and, amongst other things, recruit armies.

This is where the MMO elements come in. It’s wholly optional, but players can recruit their friends for their army, and engage in large-scale battles. Speaking of which, battles in the game are fairly strategy-intensive. Troop placement is crucial to victory, as is tactfully using magic and assist creatures.

With its focus on both MMO and classic RPG elements, Might & Magic Heroes Online is shaping up to be a strong entry in the browser space. Be sure to follow it here on Gamezebo for news on the game’s release date and more.
