It’s the end of the year. Christmas shopping, a longing for snow, and peppermint everything permeate the culture. But December is more than a month of holiday and winter wonder — it’s also a time to look back at the year that was. And in the world of video games, that means a lot of “best of” lists. (Gamezebo will be no exception — stay tuned!)
Apple has just kicked things off in a big way, announcing their iPhone Game of the Year for 2015 is Lara Croft GO, the puzzle / adventure game with a tabletop vibe that debuted back in August. Lara Croft GO came very close to a perfect score in our review, and has been tossed around behind the scenes at Gamezebo as a “best of 2015” contender by more than a few of us, so it would be silly of me to try and argue with Apple’s logic for their top pick.
Looking at some of their other Best of 2015 selections, though? There are a few strange choices — including at least three that were actually released in 2014.

Either way, if you’re looking for something to play while the season has slowed down, this should give you a good cheat sheet of noteworthy titles you might have missed.
