Fans will have to wait a little bit longer to sink their teeth into the first episode of Telltale Games’ episodic adventure game series based on Jurassic Park. The company announced today that episode one of the series will not launch in April as originally planned. As a result, everyone who preordered the game on PC will receive a full refund and a free Telltale game of their choice.

In a letter to customers, Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors explained the company’s decision:

“Our goal was to release the first episode of Jurassic Park: The Game this month, and currently we are very excited about how the game’s creation is progressing. The game’s mechanics and storytelling have come together in such a way that we see great potential, so much so that we feel we can push these elements to the next level if we spend some extra time working on them. It is because of this that we are delaying Jurassic Park: The Game on PC to ensure PC players get the best possible gaming experience.”

According to Connors, Jurassic Park: The Game will now launch this fall simultaneously on all platforms.

Telltale Games will begin issuing the refunds over the next couple of days and will contact people who preordered the game via email with information on how to redeem the free game.
