Jaws.io is the latest online arena battler to draw inspiration from Agar.io. This time, your goal is to become the infamous shark Jaws as you strive to, quite literally, become the biggest fish in the ocean.

Achieving that is pretty much the same as in any of these games so far. You start out in a ship and have to float around, gathering up as much stuff as possible as you strive to become the biggest and best.

Meanwhile, another player or the AI will take charge of Jaws itself. If you’re lucky enough to defeat the monster, you’ll become it. Then you can swim around destroying all of the other players, eating hapless floating people, and feeling like a total fishy badass.

In this guide, we’re going to provide you with a bunch of tips and tricks that will help you become the biggest shark in the ocean.

Jaws.io Ship Tips and Tricks

  • Drive over everything: Much like the shark itself, your ship can drive over most small objects to devour them and grow. This is the aim of the game initially, as you’ll drastically increase your chances of being the shark the higher your score.
  • You can hit smaller ships to destroy them: You can actually ride over enemy ships to swallow them, giving you a big boost in score – provided you’re bigger than them. This is a good strategy, as it temporarily sabotages your opponent’s chances of getting points.
  • Save your super shot for when Jaws is on low health: You’ll slowly unlock a super shot while sailing on the oceans, which does massive damage to Jaws. Save this for when Jaws is on low health so you can steal the kill from other players.
  • You can see Jaws on your radar: As a ship, your sole priority should be on becoming Jaws as often as possible. So it’s a good thing, then, that a handy icon on your radar points you towards Jaws at all times. Just don’t get too close – he bites.
  • Being Jaws provides much more points than being a ship: While you can try and just swim around collecting stuff and destroying enemy players, you’re not very likely to win. Being Jaws provides so much more points because he can eat way more things.

Jaws.io Shark Tips and Tricks

  • Avoid ships: Once you become Jaws, you’ll likely want to go on a rampage and eat as many ships as possible. Don’t. Jaws is actually incredibly vulnerable, and goes down quickly under enemy fire. Instead, just try and survive as long as possible while eating as much as you can. That’ll net you the most points.
  • Stick to the outskirts: Sticking to the outskirts of the arena is a solid strategy, as most players tend to stick to the middle. The outskirts also has a lot of stuff to eat, including piers, docked ships, and survivors. We’ve won many matches by just becoming Jaws and skirting the outsides of the map.
  • Swallow everything: Literally everything. As Jaws, pretty much everything is a meal. That includes helicopters, boats, people, piers – basically any object that isn’t water or land.
  • Dash to close the gap or escape from ships: While ships earn a super shot, Jaws gets himself a dash that does exactly what it says on the tin. Save this for when you really need it. If you get surrounded by enemy ships, dash away from them. If one ship just won’t leave you alone, dash into it to close the gap quickly.
  • Swallow ships that get close: Though we recommend you to stay as far away from enemy ships as possible, they do occasionally get close. Provided it’s just one or two ships, it might actually be a good idea just to quickly swallow them before that crowd becomes a swarm.
