Chop Chop Slicer to cut its way across an alien world next week

Gamerizon’s most recent release on the App Store put players in control of a spaceship as it explored the cosmos, endlessly heading somewhere – but where was it heading? While it might not have been the ship’s original destination, Chop Chop Slicer tells the story of just where that ship crash-landed.

Using the Fruit Ninja slicing formula as inspiration, Chop Chop Slicer tells the tale of a lone astronaut stranded on an alien world. Originally piloting the vehicle seen in Chop Chop Rocket, the astronaut needs to defend himself against hostile aliens using the most powerful force in the universe – your finger!

Players will slice and dice an endless series of creatures across three different modes as they attempt to survive on this hostile alien world. Some might be worried this is simply a case of “me too” game design, but Chop Chop Slicer seems set to do a good deal to set itself apart from other Fruit Ninja inspired games – namely, precision slicing.

Rather than slicing things all willy nilly, Chop Chop Slicer will slice these objects in exactly the place your finger has made contact. Unlike most slicing games in which the objects are flat and convex, Chop Chop Slicer presents 3D objects with concave angles, which should make for a far richer slicing experience.

The game will feature 3 modes – Arcade, Time Attack, and Perfect Slicing. The first two of these are fairly self-explanatory (especially if you’re familiar with Fruit Ninja), but the Perfect Slicing mode is one of those things that should really help Chop Chop Slicer stand out in the crowd. Because the game offers spot on precision when you cut with your finger, Perfect Slicing mode tasks players to try and slice their targets exactly in half.

As you slice, you’ll be told how close to that 50% mark you’ve come on screen, with percentages showing just how much area exists on either side of the sliced object. It’s like a perfect marriage of Fruit Ninja and Just Half – and idea that’s so ingenious, we can’t believe we haven’t seen it before.

We’ve recently had some hands on time with Chop Chop Slicer and are pleased to report that the three modes all feel unique enough to warrant a play. Also, the precision slicing feels right on the money. Be sure to check back with us for our full review once the game is released.

Can’t wait to slice and dice otherworldly beasties yourself? Developer Gamerizon should be stranding you on an alien world shortly. Expect this one to hit the App Store as a universal app on June 9th.
