The "mobile first" mantra has become increasingly popular when it comes to creating games that are going to end up on smartphones and tablets, but MMORPGs made specifically for those devices are still rare. Game Insight's Dragon Eternity can call itself one of the few and the proud, but while it scores high marks on the design front, it's a little too jumbled and confusing to call a complete success.

Cross-platform play in games is a very exciting prospect to me. It's not something you typically see in the PC and console market, and while I realize there are valid reasons for that, it doesn't make me any less excited by how much we're seeing it in the social and mobile arena. The upcoming free-to-play MMO Dragon Eternity, for example, will enable Android, iOS and browser users to all participate in the same world.
