Spark Era, the hotly anticipated 3D battle royale mobile game from Firework Games, has just acquired a host of new features in its latest update.

Before we explain exactly what those new features are, it’s worth getting everybody up to speed on one of the most intriguing and ambitious games in beta right now.

In a nutshell, Spark Era is a multiplayer eSports game set in a post-apocalyptic interstellar void. It sees the last remnants of humanity duking it out among the stars with three other factions and thousands of other players.

The four factions on offer are Earth Confederation, Empire of Amda, Asman Zerg, and The Titans. Each one has its own unique skills and abilities, and you can choose to play in a team or alone, giving you practically limitless scope for personalization.

That personalization extends to your avatar, too. Spark Era boasts Ready Player Me integration, allowing you to create your own custom avatar based on your real world appearance.

Gameplay-wise, Spark Era sees you constantly fighting for survival while an electromagnetic pulse circle closes in around you. The winner is the last player standing once all the shooting and shrinking is over.

Oh, and it boasts the first ever J.A.R.V.I.S.-style AI companion in a mobile game.

This virtual pal stays with you throughout the game, learning your patterns of behavior through sophisticated machine-learning models. It then uses this information to gauge your emotions and dispense tailored advice depending on the situation you’re in.

This mouthwatering innovation is joined by a host of more conventional features, including a choice of awesome spacecraft, a ton of different weapons, prize tournaments, and combat on a cosmic scale.

There’s a range of stunningly detailed battlefields, too, including the perilous Red Force Field, the densely populated Solar System, and the mysterious Abyssal Ruins, all of them steeped in lore.

And there are still more reasons to be excited for Spark Era, including the fact that the game runs on AWS – or Amazon Web Services. This is the online infrastructure that hosts all the biggest multiplayer mobile games, including Free Fire, Diablo, and Fortnite.

Spark Era is a work in progress, of course, and new features are being added all time.

For one thing, Firework Games has just added a powerful new Double Damage skill, letting you increase your damage output by a cool 100%.

There’s a new chat system, too, supporting both text and voice communication between players. Now it’s even easier to make new friends while exploring Spark Era’s sprawling universe.

The team has also optimized the ship controls, allowing you to maneuver your spacecraft with greater ease and precision. This is bound to come in handy during those big, messy space battles.

The new notification system will come in handy too, keeping you informed on happenings within the game and the Spark Era community.

Finally, there’s a new Effect Defensive Mode. As you can probably guess, this new feature allows you to employ defensive strategies like dodging, flanking, and pulling off dazzling maneuvers to discombobulate your hapless opponents.

Crucially, these updates and improvements are designed to enhance the game rather than dramatically change it, ensuring a smooth ride for existing players and a more appealing initial experience for newcomers.

You’ll be able to see all of these new features in action during Spark Era’s February open beta.
