February 2025 Nintendo Switch Games Release Radar

Let’s get stuck in!

Matchmaker Agency – Releasing February 13th

Shockingly despite the game’s focus, Matchmaker Agency drops just before Valentine’s Day. In this bizarre title, you become cupid and pair clients up based on their preferences, personality, and more. On this not-so-noble quest to earn enough rent money, you analyze clients and set them up on artificial dates in an attempt to spark connections and recreate love at first sight. Or, go rogue and completely sabotage everyone in the name of humour.

Truly this title is something I’d see Reigen Arataka from Mob Psycho 100 pursuing if the whole scam-psychic thing went bust. He would 100% pretend to be a matchmaker cupid to please clients and make money and for that, I’m so excited to try this game for myself.

Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered – Releasing February 14th

Ever wanted to go on a date with Lara Croft? Well, you still can’t but at least the remastered editions of IV-VI release on Valentine’s Day. Packed with three games, the Tomb Raider Remaster includes IV, V, and VI. Delve into a three-part story split across three iconic titles, join Lara Croft as she adventures across Egypt. All whilst unveiling conspiracies and truths whilst she lands herself in hot water as a fugitive.

If you’ve played the games before, then these classic reimagined releases will be right up your alley! I’m especially a fan of the DEVs including a toggle between the iconic poly-style and more modern graphics. Great for gamers who adore nostalgia, or new-gen gamers who prefer the sleek look and want to explore the franchise.

Afterlove EP – Releasing February 14th

Another Valentine’s Day release! Though, this one is more fitting to the day than the last… Somewhat. Afterlove EP follows Rama, a young musician who finds himself struggling after the loss of his girlfriend. In this slice-of-life narrative, you get to choose his path and explore the vibrant city of modern Jakarta alongside Rama as he learns to cope with grief and prospects.

Afterlove EP is one of those games I imagine I’ll dwell on long after I put it down for the last time. There’s something about existential stories that mirrors human emotions that stick with me and really makes me appreciate and value the people I know. Maybe that’s the intention. Learning to be there for Rama as he finds himself again post-loss and helping to motivate him to take care of himself and harbour remaining relationships teaches us all about compassion and how to handle our own grievances.

Stories From Sol: The Gun-Dog – Releasing February 20th

Stories from Sol follows a Gun-Dog security officer challenged with saving a spacecraft from abrupt annihilation by an unknown assailant. Set in the future after a Solar War, peace is disturbed after a ship is sent to the edge of Jovian space to inspect mysterious signals. Whilst isolated, the story quickly darkens, plummeting into mystery and a battle for survival.

Yes, please! I think I might be most excited about this game. It’s got a juicy plot, it’s got a stunning retro old-anime pixel art style and it’s set in space. I’ve been hooked ever since seeing the trailer. The characters seem so diverse and the narrative and way the story presents align with my taste.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection – Releasing February 27th

Crammed with most of the classic games, Yu-Gi-Oh drops players in the heat of card conflict, building decks, taking on original anime characters and other real-world players. Plus, the collection features some titles previously unreleased outside of Japan making this one truly special game to end off the February releases.

It seems you've stumbled upon my bio! I'm Sho, your local weeb. Off the clock I am typically watching anime, reading manga, or doing art. I think it's safe to say that all my unpaid thoughts revolve around anime... That said, watch One Piece! (Or don't, I'm just a biography.)
