AENO Premium Eco Smart LED Heater Hands On – Hot Stuff?

Here at Gamezebo we look mainly at games, yet. But also general gaming tech and frippery also fascinates, so when we had the chance to look over this new smart heater from AENO we couldn’t say no (or should that be ae-no?). 

Especially as we happen to be UK based, so it is currently freezing here. The timing simply couldn’t be better.

Taking it out of the box, it’s a fairly heavy beast – but surprisingly slimline considering what we got from it. Which was a lot of heat, and then some. It also included all the brackets and fittings to either have it free standing, or gave us the chance to bolt it to the wall.

This isn’t AENO’s first rodeo though, having already released a range of smart heating equipment. This is probably its finest hour so far though, and part of the reason why is the beautiful simplicity of the product itself. 

There’s no dizzying numbers of dials and switches to confuse or bewilder here. Instead you have a digital LED display and 4 buttons. And the display and control unit are easily found even in the dark, with it being placed exactly where you’d expect it to be.

Making the heater work is simple. There’s a temperature screen showing the current heat, and the one set by you, buttons allow you to higher and lower the temperature, and then there’s a main power button. Everything works how you’d want and expect.

There’s truly more than meets the eye here though. The true complexity and finer details of this unit are either hidden away, or can be fine tuned via an accompanying app.

One hidden feature that truly impressed us was the SMART Mode, which helps you to maintain a comfortable temperature without any loss of electricity to the air. We tested this in our mid-range sized home office and found we always ambled in (coffee in hand) to a perfectly warm room rather than the usual icebox. And it was, despite this unit’s impressive top level of power (700+ Watts), never uncomfortably warm. 

This also ties into how the heater makes sure you don’t waste any of that power. AENO claims it’s twice as efficient as a conventional heater, and part of the reason is that it switches off once a room reaches the set temperature – coming back on when and if required.

Then there’s the accompanying app, which allowed us to monitor the unit’s energy usage and even set schedules to when it goes on and off. Because it worked via wifi rather than bluetooth we could turn the heater on and off while traveling as well, which was massively useful when we were facing the prospect of coming home to a rather cold house. 

Add in the range of smart extra little features – a child-lock and a sensor if the unit tips over, switching it off – means this is a unit that’s well worth the expense over your usual heating unit or an extra radiator.

The premium in its name is no idle boast. The AENO Premium Eco Smart LED Heater is possibly the best in its class, offering a high-tech but not intimidating solution to anyone’s extra heater needs.
