The jury is still out on whether or not the Amazon Fire Phone will ever be a real contender, but we liked it when we checked out the device and it’s first two, dynamic-perspective showcasing games (Saber’s Edge, To-Fu Fury).

Normally the 32GB phone would set you back $199 on a two-year contract with AT&T, but as of today, that two-year contract price has just dropped to a paltry 99 cents.

Is this in response to poor sales? A way to grab some headlines the day before Apple’s next iPhone announce happens? We’re guessing a little bit of both (some numbers from analysts late last month didn’t look so hot).

Either way, if you’ve been considering getting it (and if Apple doesn’t wow you with what they show tomorrow), at least you can try the Fire Phone at a crazy reasonable price.

If you’d prefer the 64GB version, you can pick it up for $99 – a $200 savings from it’s $299 price point as well.
