Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink Review
By John Anthony
Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink is a perfect example of creating a hybrid adventure/hidden object game. Neither genre is relied upon too heavily, creating a nice balance of puzzle solving and exciting diversions. Wrapped in an entertaining story and featuring some fantastic artwork, you won't hesitate playing through the entire game in just a few sittings.Grim Tales: Bloody Mary Review
Childhood is a repository of memories—memories of friends made and dares taken. Who doesn't recall being challenged by a group of trembling chums to turn off the lights, look into a mirror and repeat the words "Bloody Mary" three times? I remember the story of the soul-stealing ghost as one of the creepiest memories of my misspent youth, and it's the basis of Elephant Games spooky but imperfect Grim Tales: Bloody Mary. The Drowning Review
By Joe Jasko
There's simply no getting around it: first-person shooters are still having trouble trying to find solid footing in today's smartphone and tablet industry. A lot of this missed success might be pinned on the awkward translation of joystick-and-trigger controls onto a touchscreen interface, but The Drowning from Scattered Entertainment is one game that has set out to change the way we shoot things from a first-person perspective without anything even remotely resembling a trigger. A horror-themed FPS with an emphasis on fluid touchscreen controls and a freemium model that won't scare away hardcore gamers like the actual creatures in the game world will, The Drowning serves to show that there may just be room for more quality FPS titles on mobile after all.Rivals at War: 2084 Review
I tend to have a routine before I write a review. I'll read the game's description in the App Store, check out any previews online, and learn a bit about its prequel. With Rivals at War 2084,I simply looked at a couple screenshots, downloaded the game, and went on my way. I expected an action-packed shooter with team building elements. My ignorant assumption was wrong, and I'm far happier because of it.League of Mermaids Review
By Nadia Oxford
League of Mermaids is an enjoyable and addictive match-three puzzle game, but it has more than that going for it. Consider its name. Are there any three words you can put together that sound more epic than "League of Mermaids?" It makes you think of an underwater Justice League-style team that fights crime using robot sharks and razor-edged seashell bras.Puddle Review
By Joe Jasko
After mopping up on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network last year, the water-based physics platformer Puddle is now looking to cause a big splash on iOS: or at least just make everything slightly damp. In the game, players are put in control of a number of different puddles of liquid, from water to Nitroglycerin, where they have to tilt the world around them to guide each puddle through a challenging platform environment. But while the game earns points for variety and creativity in design, the overwhelming mundaneness of the whole thing begs the question: is it really that much fun to be a puddle?rymdkapsel Review
The space station is densely packed, with cramped corridors leading from the soft blue glow of the energy reactor to the unexpected green of the hydroponic garden. Crewmen stride along the halls, focused on kitchen duties, construction management, and onboarding new recruits. An alarm rings out twice; all of the crewmen abandon their tasks and report to weapons stations. In a perfectly coordinated laser gun attack, they obliterate an invading alien ship, then return to work. This has been one minute in rymdkapsel.Dropchord Review

There's a massive difference between how you approach games that offer style over substance, rather than vice versa. In a stylish game that doesn't offer a huge amount of depth, there can be this initial burst of excitement and adoration for just how incredible the quality of the production is, but this is often followed up by the steady realization that there ain't much going on under that gorgeous bonnet.
