Madden NFL 25 Review
Console gamers occasionally complain that the Madden NFL games don't change that much between the years, but the same thing can't be said for EA's mobile football efforts. Last year gave us Madden NFL Social, across-platform effort that was exactly what it said it was. For the series' silver anniversary, Madden NFL 25 on mobile devices switches gears to be closer to the console experience, but it's mostly just a free-to-play, watered down version of Ultimate Team mode.
Joining Hands 2 Review
Joining Hands 2 is a cute little logic-based puzzle game that will keep small hands busy with Peablins and their many cousins, who are only happy when they're holding hands. Adult hands, however, might find it a little too simplistic and two-dimensional to stay interesting for very long.
Jelly Splash Review
In short, Jelly Splash is Wooga's latest take on the unstoppable Candy Crush Saga format that has achieved such an unprecedented amount of success for developer King in recent years. In the game, players will find themselves clearing dozens of colorful, squishy jelly creatures as they make their way through the game's 100 challenging puzzles to save the jelly kingdom from an evil swarm of invading purple mushrooms. But although some people might favor jelly over candy in real life, after popping hundreds of the little squishy guys myself, it becomes apparent that there's very little substance to be found underneath all that tantalizing jelly coating.
Shelter Review
I don't know a lot about badgers. I remember there was one in Wind in the Willows, and he was sort of wise and a bit grumpy, but otherwise I've had zero education on where badgers live, what they eat, and how they live their lives. I'd use Shelter as a learning aid, given that you play through the life of a badger - but the team behind it told me recently that they have no clue about badgers, and they just sort of made up the experience as they went along.
Kitchen Scramble Review
City-dwellers know that some of the best food in the world comes off of food trucks. These mobile kitchens serve up deep-fried delights, grilled goodness, and fresh fare (but mostly deep-fried delights). Kitchen Scramble on Facebook is a time-management game based around an entrepreneuse who aims to dish out a diverse menu from the back of her own food truck. It's a noble ambition; too bad the core gameplay is basically the same meal we've been served over and over.
NatGeo: World of Secrets Review
NatGeo: World of Secrets is a hidden object game fused with a quest-based simulation title, all playable right in your browser window. It features open-ended gameplay that lets you search and travel wherever you like, just as long as you find the items you need in order to proceed. Even though the gameplay focuses a little too much on repetition, you always feel like you're making progress towards a bigger goal.Asphalt 8: Airborne Review
Wow, Asphalt 8: Airborne. Gameloft first introduced the series back in 2004, so that's almost one game per year in the series, making it something of an annual release for the company along the lines of some of Electronic Arts' library.
Tyrant Unleashed Review
Collectible Card Games come in all shapes and sizes, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect with Tyrant Unleashed. Even now I'm still not entirely sure what to make of it.
