By Jim Squires
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that The Room was the best iPad game to be released in 2012. And by go out on a limb, I mean "agree with every iPad owner on the planet, as well as Gamezebo's own Best of 2012 list). And while that seemingly spelled a troubled future for the company, today's announcement handily snuffs out any such concerns.New Cut the Rope coming in April, more ZeptoLab goodness to follow
By Jim Squires
GDC is a little like the Christmas season. It's a wonderful time when anything can happen. Take ZeptoLab, for instance. The studio is still hot on the heels of the recently released Pudding Monsters, but that doesn't mean they don't have plans for the future. In speaking with Polygon, twin founders Efim and Semyon Voinov have confirmed not one, but four new games that should see the light of day before the end of the year.PopCap’s James Gwertzman on how to succeed in the Chinese games market [GDC]
By Dant Rambo
There's money to be made in China, but western game developers haven't had the best luck making it. Part of this can be attributed to China's stance towards video games, but according to James Gwertzman, PopCap's Head of Strategic Development, some of the problem also lies with how western developers approach the market in the first place. In a GDC talk titled "OMG! Zombies on the Great Wall of China," Gwertzman discussed PopCap's massive success with Plants vs. Zombies in China, as well as how developers can fare better in the country.
