Case in point: RPGs, circa the 16-bit console era. The new freemium iOS RPG Heroes in Time does a pretty great job of recapturing some of that magic in portable form, taking players back to when fantasies were final and, um, chronos were triggered?

    I had a strange dream the other night about Pamela Anderson that was probably brought on by eating nachos too soon before nodding off on the couch while an old episode of Baywatch was on. Then I realized it wasn't a dream: Anderson really has her own free poker game on Facebook called BamPoker. Alas, Pam's star power and visual appeal aren't quite enough to make this game especially noteworthy. What a nightmare.

    I don't know how to code apps, but my guess is that it's not too easy to pack a full-featured baseball simulation into 130 MB. Somehow, iOOTP 2012 Edition manages to pull it off, compiling all the stats and options necessary to play the (American) national pastime the way you want to play it on your iOS device. Armchair general managers of the world, this one's for you.
