    I want to get something on the record right away: I did not vote for anyone to become Governor of Poker, and I wasn't even aware such a thing existed. My editor says it might be an appointed position. Anyway, the series of poker games by that same name has made its way to Facebook in the form of Governor of Poker: Texas Tycoon, and… well, it's a poker game. Yep, it's definitely a poker game.

    Before we get into this, let's first pour out some adult beverages for the late LEGO Universe, a game that was beloved by my kids but apparently didn't attract enough paying players - including my kids. LEGO: Legends of Chima Online represents a second try at getting the no-brainer concept of a LEGO MMO right, and while it's not as imaginative as its predecessor, it's largely successful overall.

    I had a revelation the other day that if the current me went back in time and showed the eight-year old me an iPad, it would blow my mind. Unless my current self was showing my past self Game of Watchcraft: Spawn of Squishy, that is, in which case I'd probably just wonder how Clicker managed to get an LCD game so flat. In the present, it's a game that ends up both living and dying by its remarkable devotion to handheld game technology that ruled the 1980s.

    When I was a young lad, my parents sent me to the typical kind of summer camp where I participated in activities like archery, horseback riding, and getting eaten by mosquitoes. That was cool and all, but my folks really could have shown their love by sending me to Battle Camp, where I could have learned things like capturing monsters and participating in raids with my Troop-mates. Sounds much more awesome, right?

    The Ultima series is kind of like that girl you had a crush on back in high school: pretty awesome back in the day, but not the same after letting herself go in more recent years. Mythic and EA are trying to turn back the clock with Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar, a free-to-play RPG that freshens things up for mobile gamers but ultimately (no pun intended) doesn't quite live up to the fan favorite game that inspired it, Ultima IV.

    When it comes to games that are a long time coming, Neverwinter is right up there. With a setting that's been detailed in classic RPG supplements, prior video games, and even novels, the current version got kicked around several times before it (and developer Cryptic Studios) ended up at Perfect World Entertainment. Was the resulting free-to-play MMORPG worth the wait? If you're a casual player into action and instances, the answer is probably yes.
