    Wow. That's all that can be said really, of this pitiful entry in the Haunted Legends series. ERS Studios has become the poster child for hit-or-miss game development, and thanks to a nonsensical plot, lazy design, and sloppy execution, Haunted Legends: The Curse of Vox is definitely a miss.

    No one was more surprised than I when Big Fish Games convinced me to like golf. Scratch that—when Big Fish made me obsessed with golf. Big Fish's Fairway Solitaire kept me awake till the wee hours of the morning, matching cards and chasing the hard-to-achieve hole-in-one. Unfortunately, that game's free-to-play first cousin, Fairway Solitaire: Tee to Play, is by comparison a bit of a let-down.

    Wouldn't you think that a game with "Love Chronicles" in the title would have something to do with romance? Well strangely enough, the majority of Vendel Games' new hidden object adventure Love Chronicles: Salvation has nothing at all to do with Cupid's arrow, and instead focuses on some decidedly un-romantic themes. While that'll no doubt disappoint romance fans, hidden object/puzzle enthusiasts are still in for a reasonably good time.

    As far as match-three games go, there's plenty of room for change and innovation; unfortunately, few developers seem inclined to use it. The new deep-sea-themed match-three game Jewel Legends: Atlantis falls firmly into that un-expansive camp. Although a prime example of established mechanics, the game does nothing whatsoever to advance the match-three genre.

    The myth of the werewolf is centuries old: an idea that taps into our most primal fears. Perhaps that's why no matter how many times the theme is utilized, we continue to be drawn to it. Shiver: Moonlit Grove, the new hidden object adventure by Artogon Games does its best to take advantage of this transformational, often tragic, theme—however its efforts are undermined by poorly-done cinematics and weak storytelling.

    ERS Games' Redemption Cemetery series is one of the most popular in the spooky fantasy arena due to its gently scary settings, supernatural themes and great-looking graphics. Redemption Cemetery: Salvation of the Lost fits right into the RC mold, but this time around—thanks to a vague, cliché story concept and even more generic bonus chapter, the experience is largely forgettable.

Gunnar Games uses themes, characters and settings that are very familiar to us in its new hidden object game, Small Town Terrors: Pilgrim's Hook but it does so expertly. The result is a darkly lush, unsettling adventure of Lovecraftian proportions.

    As movies like The Silence of the Lambs have melodramatically shown us, being an FBI agent is no picnic; still, we love being party to the danger this singular profession invites. New hidden object game Strange Cases: The Faces of Vengeance gives us the chance to once again join the ranks of the armed-and-trenchcoat-ed as they pursue a vengeful villain. Sadly, due to a game concept and story that feel incomplete, the experience is largely underwhelming.
