    In the punishing world of academia, even top students can lose momentum and begin to slack off. And though it may break the professor's heart, he or she will have to break out the red pen and penalize the student's work accordingly. Similarly, it's painful to award Teacher Story with anything less than an A. This web-based strategy game provides a unique experience and wads of hilarious writing, but the mandatory long, long waits in between play sessions bung up the game's final mark.

    Chat Fu by Blot Interactive drives home a point we all learned in grade school: words can hurt. The game plays like an action/fighting title that's been cross-bred with Charades. Chat Fu for Facebook offers a good time with words and flying fists, even if there are some technical issues that foul up the fight a bit.

High School Story, a mobile social/building game, successfully demonstrates how varied and dramatic life can become when you're a secondary school student.

    League of Mermaids is an enjoyable and addictive match-three puzzle game, but it has more than that going for it. Consider its name. Are there any three words you can put together that sound more epic than "League of Mermaids?" It makes you think of an underwater Justice League-style team that fights crime using robot sharks and razor-edged seashell bras.

    It's time to play the music. It's time to light the lights. It's time to have some fun, so pull out your iOS device. My Muppets Show by Disney and Big Blue Bubble (BBB) is a simulation/music game that plays a great deal like BBB's excellent My Singing Monsters. In fact, My Muppets Show simply swaps out one horde of cute monsters for another. It's hard to complain, however, since Jim Henson's shaggy puppet pals are legendary. They also have some great pipes, and some corny jokes.

Methods included panning in freezing water for hours and bashing at rocks with picks. In fact, that's how the protagonist of Gamistry's Gold Diggers begins seeking her fortune, but with little success. All that changes when she finds a machine that's capable of taking her to the mother lode sleeping deep, deep underground.

    Holy Smurf, here we go again. The Smurfs & Co: Spellbound is a follow-up to Facebook's highly popular Smurf sim, The Smurfs & Co. Your mission is to save your Smurfy friends and restore Smurf Village to its former blue glory. There's very little about Spellbound that hasn't been done before in other sim/city-building titles, and the game throws you against a paywall pretty early on. Smurf-loving kids will have a blast, however, at least for a little while.

    When in Rome, do as Realore Games does: run back and forth, hack at rocks blocking your way, haggle with shopkeepers, and collect piles of pork that are lying in the dusty road. When in Rome is another time-management/action game that should be very familiar for fans of Northern Tale, Roads of Rome, and similar fare by Realore Games. In other words, you shouldn't expect anything revolutionary out of When in Rome, but there's no denying that the time- and resource-management mechanic that drives its gameplay is still addictive.
