But as 10tons' Trouserheart demonstrates, just as a dog may bite the hand that feeds him, a hero's pants can similarly decide to go rogue. When that happens, said hero must go on a sword-swinging adventure to retrieve his pantaloons, though the journey may be drafty.Trouserheart casts you as a powerful king who has everything he wants—or so he thinks. When his pants are nicked by a goblin, the king quickly realizes that the Lord had always intended for man and pants to be as one. So begins your bare-assed journey to find your trousers.Trouserheart is a hack-and-slash game that carries a whiff of The Legend of Zelda. You progress from room to room, and each one is filled with enemies like Goblins, Jelly Cubes, and ever-deadly Derp Knights. You have a virtual d-pad for moving, and an attack button for swinging your sword. That's as complicated as things get.

    It's already common knowledge that most of Disney's feature films - Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, et al - are highly sanitized versions of fairytales penned by the likes of Hans Christian Andersen and the appropriately-named Brothers Grimm. Fading Fairytales is a turn-based strategy RPG that recalls the darker days of our favorite stories. The title's setting and character designs are a lot of fun, but the gameplay tells a slow, familiar story.   Trouble has come to the land of fairytales. Darkness has settled over the storybook worlds, and old-time heroes like Robin Hood and Pinocchio have turned bad as a result. Three heroes pledge to save their home: Amon the anteater, Middle the bear, and Natadak the platypus ("not a duck" - get it?). Luckily, Gepetto has cobbled together a machine that frees the heroes from the darkness, but in order to get the heroes to take their medicine, you need to take down their henchmen first."And oh, there are henchmen. Tons and tons of henchmen. Battle after battle is thrown at you, and each one is as lively as Snow White was after she went on her poisoned apple binge.  If you've played a mobile turn-based RPG, then you already have a good idea of what to expect from Fading Fairytales. You and your opponents take turns moving across a battlefield. When you get close to one another, an exchange of blows ensues. There are also characters capable of delivering long-range attacks, and others that can heal allies or mess up the enemies' stats. The battle ends when one side has been annihilated.

    Rovio has released Angry Birds Star Wars II for mobile phones and tablets. We all knew it was going to happen. It was as inexorable as the final struggle between Luke and Darth Vader. After all, Rovio's first attempt at fitting Jedi and Sith into suits made of feathers and pigskin proved extremely successful.So will you enjoy a second go-around with an Angry Birds/Star Wars hybrid? Yes, provided you meet two requirements: one, you're not thoroughly sick of Angry Birds; and two, you've not taken an oath to destroy everything that references the Star Wars prequels. Whereas the first Angry Birds Star Wars revolves around Episodes IV, V, and VI, Angry Birds Star Wars II plucks from Episodes I, II, and III. That means you'll be goofing off with the likes of Anakin Skywalker and Jar Jar Binks. Sorry.Don't let it get you down, though. True to Angry Birds tradition, none of the characters in Angry Birds Star Wars II actually talk. That alone puts the game miles above Episode I. When you get right down to it, Angry Birds Star Wars II dishes out tons of fun and humor.

    Pop culture's love affair with zombies would have you believe the creatures are slow, shambling, and stupid. For your own safety, don't be fooled. George Romero's zombies can really book it if they've got a victim in their sights, and the zombies populating Infectonator: Hot Chase are likewise fleet of foot.Infectonator: Hot Chase combines zombies with the endless running genre, both of which have been done to death in online and gaming culture. You'd think that combining the two would result in an indigestible game, but surprisingly, Infectonator: Hot Chase is fun, fast, and full of good humor. Or maybe it's not surprising, given the game is put together by Toge, the same team behind the highly addictive Infectonator zombie simulation games.Infectonator: Hot Chase is a bit more straightforward than its predecessors, however. You play as a zombie that rudely interrupts a newscast (which is just a list of random facts, as per Infectonator tradition), tears through the studio, and bursts out onto the street. From there, you run and infect as many people as possible.If you're familiar with the Infectonator games, then you already know its fast-moving zombies tend to burn out quickly. In the same vein, you're equipped with a Stamina bar in Infectonator: Hot Chase. Your stamina gradually depletes as you run, gradually slowing you down. When it hits zero, you come to a complete stop and the run is over.

    Farming is a wholesome job, but it can also be soul-shattering. Every day, farmers deal with pests, rodents, bad weather, and crippling debt—and they return to the job with every sunrise because the world needs to be fed. In the same vein, digital farming brings downfalls of its own, including long wait times and brainless screen-tapping. Still, like the underappreciated real-world farmer, we return to our tasks. Not because they're necessary, but because games like Farm Story 2 are comforting in their predictability.Farm Story 2 puts you in charge of an unproductive farm. It's your job to fill it up with farm-y things, like crops, cows, and shops. You earn money for delivering vegetables, eggs, milk, and other products. That money goes back into improving your farm. It's the circle of farming life."Farm Story 2 involves a lot of tapping and dragging. You purchase plots of land from the market, and tap to lay them down. You tap to plant your crops. When it's time to harvest, you drag your scythe across your rows of wheat and corn. This simple gesture is surprisingly fun to perform: There's something satisfying about harvesting a whole crop in a bare second.Similarly, you collect products from your animal friends by dragging bucket icons over their pens. Once you've collected, the animals literally stiffen and collapse, and they won't produce until you feed them. It's a silly animation, but you'll smile the first time you see it.
