    If hotels could talk, what kind of tales would they tell? Maybe the bar would wax poetic about the travelers it served from around the world. The sheets, on the other hand, would just scream, and scream, and scream. Hotel Story for iOS doesn't feature any talking fixtures; despite its name, it's just a hotel-building sim. There's little here that you haven't experienced before, though it's relaxing to watch your little guests bustle from place to place.

    According to Jewish folklore, the Golem is a clay being that was brought to life with a scroll that contained the name of God. A great deal of modern robot lore owes its heritage to the story; think of Optimus Prime as the Golem's third cousin. But even our modern, shiny robo-men can't erase the lure and mysticism of the original tale, which is why Moonbot Studios is bringing the clay monster back to life with The Golem, an action/RPG for Mac, PC, and Linux.

Feast or Famine for iOS recalls a time when our ancestors burned all their calories just trying to secure their next meal. Go on: Run through the grass, listen to the thunder of hooves, and feel the primal thrill of the hunt—without getting off your couch of course, because man, who needs that noise when the hockey game is on.

In theory, we can realize our fantasies through Facebook fare like Universal Film Mogul, but all that gets you is repetitive tasks and long hours of work that bear small fruit. Maybe this game provides an accurate representation of Hollywood life after all.

    Dogs see the world in black and white (well, actually, muddy shades of yellow and grey), but are their dreams as dully-colored as their waking vision? It's impossible to know for sure; we can't simply ask our canine friends, as their responses probably wouldn't go far beyond "Woof!". That said, there's nothing wrong with adopting Silicon Jelly's optimistic world view and assuming that dogs dream in fantastic shades of pink and white.

    When you hear the words "Royal Story," what do you think of? Tales of war and conquest? Grand courts populated by lords and ladies? Knights facing off against fire-breathing dragons? Good stuff, but Royal Story for Facebook doesn't offer any of that. It doesn't even offer much of a story, though its name suggests otherwise. You're basically looking at another resource-gathering freemium title that's admittedly solid, but unimaginative.

    You might think "Aw man, being a wizard must be so cool. Nothing bad ever happens to wizards." You'd be mistaken. It's hard to be a man or woman of magic; your powers can vanish at the drop of a (pointed) hat, and then you're stuck doing horrible Muggle stuff like driving to the store to get milk instead of summoning a hell-cow and drinking sustenance directly from its fiery teat. Needless to say, wizards typically don't put up with the loss of their powers, and will go to great lengths to recover them—hence a game like Arlo's Adventure for iOS.
