    Chillingo is a newcomer to the world of free-to-play MMORPGs on the iPhone, and it totally shows with My Kingdom. The game seeks to combine an online role-playing experience with city management and the iPhone's GPS capabilities. Technically, it works fine but the My Kingdom's creators seemed to forget to include the necessary attributes for success: making the game both fun and addictive.

    I was eighteen when SpongeBob Squarepants debuted on television, so I never really saw much appeal in the guy. He seemed like a stupid, obnoxious, flash in the pan, and I've always been a little irritated at how popular he's become. As a result, I never watched the cartoon, saw the movie, or played any of the tie-in games. However, after spending some time with SpongeBob Marbles & Slides on my iPhone and iPad, I'm starting to rethink my position on this strange little sea creature.

    Kiko only had one job to do: guard the Last Totem of the Gods. It was a sweet gig, on a pretty island in the middle of the tropics, and the idol actually provided a protective field around the Kiko's home. Unfortunately, the cartoony cat creature let the item get stolen on his watch, which means it's now up to him to find and reassemble the missing pieces of the totem, ASAP. So begins Kiko: The Last Totem.

As a result, it's not surprising to see Electronic Arts trying to horn in on the multi-billion dollar market with Lord of Ultima, a browser-based strategy/simulation title that gets a surprising amount of stuff right.

    A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, there was this evil Galactic Empire. No, wait, sorry. I meant "Royalist Empire." Anyway, the Empire was so evil that it sparked a rebellion, which was in danger of getting wiped out until this plucky ace combat pilot named Luke Skywalker -sorry, "Sonan Firehawk"- managed to turn the situation around and… well, you can probably guess where this is going.

    Gameloft's first-person shooters have been, so far, fairly blatant clones of popular console franchises like Halo and Modern Warfare. This is by no means a bad thing, since the games have actually been pretty good. Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus continues this trend, giving iPhone gamers a great FPS for the system that not only features a highly-polished single-player campaign, but also includes a phenomenal online mode.

    Numb3rs is the CBS crime dramedy that has made math not only seem sexy, but also capable of fighting crime. The show doesn't seem like an ideal candidate for a video game, mainly because making math problems fun isn't an easy task. That said, the Numb3rs game on the iPhone is surprisingly fast-paced and addictive, and it's all the more impressive because it manages to make math enjoyable.

    Fantasy MMORPGs are becoming increasingly-common on the iPhone, which means that developers are faced with the daunting task of producing something that is simultaneously well-made and memorable. French developer Moving Player's new MMO Yslandia, thankfully, manages to achieve both of these feats, though it does have a couple of technical hiccups that need to be addressed.
