    In case we didn't get the point the first time, Galaxy Life: Pocket Adventures wants us to know that cuteness can be deadly. The original Galaxy Life was a social strategy game that traded out dour, muscle-bound generals and deadly tanks for protagonists named Starlings who looked like Tribbles who'd suddenly sprouted legs. And if the almost two million players who currently follow it on Facebook are any indication, the stylistic choice was nothing short of brilliant. Now, the cute little balls are taking their conquests to mobile devices, and there's every reason to surrender to its charms again.

    Cloudstone is what Blizzard Entertainment's celebrated Diablo franchise would look like if someone dipped it in the same sugary coating that smothers Facebook favorites like FarmVille. The demons have been replaced with less disturbing foes such as gelatinous blobs, the usually cheerful setting stands in for the gloom of burning villages and the underworld, but its gameplay still relies on the furious and addictive clicking we've loved in Diablo for years. It's certainly worth a look if you like point-and-click action games of any sort, and it's relatively polite in its requests for hard currency.

    Play Crazy Penguin Wars for about five minutes, and you could be forgiven for thinking that the craziest thing about it is its shameless emulation of Team17's popular Worms franchise. Were I the lazy sort, I could probably label it "Worms dressed up in a penguin suit" and leave my review at that. For the most part, I'd be right. But Crazy Penguin Wars brings its own share of surprises, meager though they may be, and it demonstrates just how far multiplayer gaming has evolved on Facebook in recent years. It's a great game if you're craving synchronous multiplayer action on Facebook, and even if you don't care for its mimicking of a beloved franchise, it's worth playing as a test run for how Team17's own Worms port will fare upon its release.

    It doesn't take long to realize that something about Ice Age Online looks a little familiar. Only moments after creating an account and logging in, you'll use your head to bash hard objects to reveal small stashes of rewards and hurl projectile at incoming baddies. After that, you'll leap across pits, stomp on turtles, and complete each stage by running past a green flag. There are a few new tricks in store and a noticeable absence of verdant plumbing pipes, but I could probably end this review right now by calling Ice Age Online a reskin of Super Mario Bros. and you'd know exactly what to expect.

    After almost 20 years of playing bubble poppers, from the original Bust-a-Move to its upstart rival Snood, I seriously doubted I'd be manic about TeamLava's newest app, regardless of its title. If you've seen one bubble popper you've seen them all, I told myself, and so I set about flexing my bubble popping finger and getting the darn thing over with. But then I kept playing. And playing. Until, at last, I found my energy bar depleted and my thumb hovering over the option to buy more playtime. I haven't pressed it yet, but fighting the temptation is like trying to keep dust off your shoes in Arizona.

    With its short but exciting matches, drag racing seems the perfect subject for racing games on mobile devices, so it's a little surprising that we're just now seeing the genre make some headlines. Android delivered Drag Racing earlier this year, and now iOS users have access to the impressive CSR Racing. In short, it makes Drag Racing look like a cave painting beside a Rembrandt.

    The second I realized that my iPhone was growing a little too warm for comfort, I found myself wondering if GameLoft had played a little joke on us in calling their new game Asphalt 7: Heat. The feeling passed quickly, however, because I was too involved in navigating the streets of London with the DeLorean from Back to the Future (while picking up XP bonuses and cash) to notice. So while it may eat up your mobile's battery's life, Asphalt 7 might just be the best mobile racing experience currently available.

    People in Mistwood have a terrible habit of accidentally locking themselves in mausoleums. I pulled away some brambles to find two snooty property managers locked in one, and further exploration revealed a self-styled ghost hunter and a writer hanging passing the time two others. I'm here primarily because my rich aunt's gone missing from the haunted family estate in Louisiana, and if this motley trio's at all representative, I think it's safe to say the poor woman's probably locked in a mausoleum herself. They should probably put warning signs on those things.
