    If only the whole world could have been formed from Bob Ross' imagination. We'd have happy little trees here and burnt sienna-colored everything as far as the eye can see. While that remains little more than a nice fantasy, there seems to be something of that spirit in the Happy Hills. And while they might not look like something from the legendary public-broadcasting artist, this colorful puzzle game would definitely please his sensibilities.

    Fantasy. Kingdom. Defense. At least one of those words sometimes helps you figure out what you're getting in to. When you lay them out in that order and present the sum as the title for a game, there's no good way to make it sound exciting. It's kinda like naming something "Sci-Fi Adventure Shoot". If you see the title and happen to think that it is some sort of sword and sorcery tower defense game, you're pretty spot-on. What this game lacks in creative vision though, it makes up for with a competent, straight-forward tower defense game.

    Cowboys & Aliens is a game that will make you exclaim "Yippee-Ki-NAY!" Please excuse the terrible pun, but quite frankly, my poor wordplay is better than this game deserves. That might sound harsh but when a game feels as slapped together and shoved out the door as this one does it's tough to not feel offended that you actually paid for this game. With real money. The kind that deducts from your bank account.

    You wake up in your bedroom from one of the deepest sleeps you've ever known, head nestled safely in your trusty pillow. A soft blanket surrounds you with warmth and comfort. Only on this particular morning, you shake off the fog clouding your head to discover that your whole world was destroyed as you dreamt. You get up, walk through the door and are aren't quite sure if the dream has ended. The ground forms at your feet as you start out on the path to meet up at the Bastion. That's all you know you're supposed to do.

    For whatever reason, despite everything else today's Android phones can do, I'm still impressed when I see 3D models and worlds in a game that I'm playing on my phone. It's just one of those things that makes me remember that living in the future is awesome. Now you're telling me that I can have a spiritual kin to Phantasy Star Online in my pocket at all times? OK. I'm just going to start throwing money at you until you give me this game. Hold up, Star Legends is Free-To-Play? Quick, somebody pinch me.

    You're an alien. You're, like, totally evil and what not. Evil in the "take over the world" way, not just normal "push an old lady alien down a moon hill" way. Step 1 to this plan is to get off your home planet and start the super hostile takeover of the other alien places on your list. The only problem is that you don't have enough alien ship energy to get off your planet. This simply won't do so you turn to a young whipper-snapper alien kid to solve the riddle of the ancient slug balls, harvesting their energy and jump-starting your ship. It's go time, baby!

    Harry Nilsson once told us that "one is the loneliest number." Playing card games are usually something best enjoyed in a group setting. Friends coming over, beer and cigars in tow, for a weekly poker game. Sitting shoulder to shoulder at a casino blackjack table with other folks who have dollar signs in their dreams. Calling those card games designed to be played by a single player "solitaire," is both scarily apt and sadly accurate.
