We're really on the brink of summer now! But while many people may be enjoying the prospect of lazy summer days and going to the beach instead of some gloomy school room, video game developers have still been hard at work to bring us great new titles to keep us entertained throughout the hot and sticky summer months. And we should all be glad that they are, because gaming today just keeps getting better and better!

Halo: Spartan Assault Preview

I never thought I'd see the day when a full-fledged Halo game would be available for me to play on my tablet or smartphone, but it looks like Cortana has been using her artificial intelligence around the clock to make such thoughts become a true reality in this day and age. Today a new installment in the Halo franchise has been announced for PC and Windows mobile devices called Halo: Spartan Assault, which looks to take to the futuristic world of Master Chief and company to the realm of virtual dual-analogue third-person shooters. Siegecraft TD Preview

Don't you hate it when you're just trying to spend a nice day outside enjoying your passive towers, when a whole onslaught of Lizardmen shows up to ruin your day with their scaly and lizardly ways? I know me too. But it looks like we're both going to have to get used to it now, because Blowfish Studios is getting ready to release Siegecraft TD in conjunction with Crescent Moon Games, a quintessential tower defense game that's light on the passivity, and heavy on the frantic lizard-filled gameplay.

Quark Games has already been making a name for themselves by producing high-octane mobile gaming experiences, like we learned from their last title Valor: Trial by Sword; and everything we've seen so far from Champs: Battlegrounds looks to be keeping up with this new gaming tradition.

But if our entire fairy tale kingdom depended on that close bond of friendship to save the land from harm, well I think that would put a little strain on even the strongest of friendships. So goes the plot of Flight of Fancy: Two Doves, a whimsical new hidden object adventure from ERS Game Studios, the same HOG developers who brought us recent gems like Reveries: Sisterly Love and Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's Masque of the Red Death.

PopCap unearths new game details and official trailer for Plants vs. Zombies 2

Summer is almost here, and what better way to get into the warm and sunny season than by going outside and planting a Sunflower or two? Today PopCap has finally shed some light on the hugely anticipated Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time, revealing the game's official release date, a new trailer, and what kinds of things we amateur gardeners can expect from the zombies' latest outing.

Tiny Barbarian DX Review

Much like the simple life of the Barbarian, Tiny Barbarian DX is all about the basics. The game's two-button jump and attack control scheme works wonders towards achieving that old NES nostalgic vibe, and the vibrant Chiptune soundtrack makes me feel like I'm eight years-old again and playing Mega Man in my parents' basement. But despite the nice look and feel, the game is just too basic and repetitive to provide any real sort of lasting entertainment, and seems a bit barbaric in its own right.
