    5 Angry Birds movie-crossover games we’d like to see

    Since the highly anticipated Angry Birds Star Wars II from Rovio was finally released earlier this week, all of us here at Gamezebo have been plenty busy flinging our Rebel Birds at the legions of evil Imperial Piggies as we keep making our push towards the ominous Pig Star. But just because we've been having a blast from here to the stars, that doesn't mean we also haven't been racking our brains to think of some other beloved movie franchises that might make an awesome fit for the Angry Birds treatment!So get ready to see your favorite irritated avians adopting some new fan-favorite roles, from wizards, to superheroes, to toys in a toy box: let's just hope the kind folks at Rovio will be listening! And as much as I love a good horror movie every now and then, I ultimately refrained from including my all-time favorite Saw series on the list, because, well, I don't think anyone would really want to see that.     Being the online news source that we are, I'd like to think that most of us here at Gamezebo stay pretty privy to the current events that go on in the world. And if there's one current event in the world of gaming that everyone seems to be talking about today, it's the unheard-of milestone that Rockstar Games has managed to achieve this week with their highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V: making $1 billion in only three days.Now while most people are looking at this in the light of what it means for gaming, and what kinds of things could be possible for AAA franchises in the future, I've been busy thinking about all of the great video games I could score with that cool $1 billion! And given all of the great new sales going on this weekend, not only would I be able to buy everything on this list without blinking an eye, but then I'd still have enough left over to buy every other video game in existence, and maybe an ice cream cone or two."So as always, if my mind has wandered too much in thinking about how I would spend my theoretical billion, be sure to let me know of any other free games and sales that I may have missed down in the replies!

    Taking advantage of the amazing new features of iOS 7, Wooga has unveiled today a new global league system update for their popular gem-matching game, Diamond Dash. The announcement marks Diamond Dash as being the very first arcade game to incorporate a global multiplayer league system, in which you'll be able to compete against 173 million other players from all over the world, to find out just who's the best at matching those gems.Here's how the new global league system in Diamond Dash is going to work: players will first work their way through the beginning Bronze, Silver, and Gold leagues, before moving their gem-rushing skills up the ladder to compete in the prestigious Diamond League. The system will also match players against each other according to their own personal skill, and the leagues are also said to provide cross-platform support on both iPhone and iPad, for the 33 million players who have downloaded the game on iOS since its initial App Store release in December of 2011."And since this is a worldwide event we're talking about here, Wooga has also given us a few global statistics about where Diamond Dash players stand so far. For instance, the player with the best average score currently lives in the Vatican City, while the players who blast the most gems per round typically seem to be from Taiwan and Austria.     Cavemania is the long-awaited result of what happens when developer BonusXP partners up with publisher Yodo1 to release Yodo1's very first global game: and let me tell you, this thing is more exciting than the discovery of fire. The bulk of Cavemania is played out on a simple match-three game board, which is filled in from top to bottom with colorful items that cavemen would normally find out in the wild and harvest for their precious resources: apples and carrots; leafy trees and pine trees; rocks and gold ore. Matching three or more of each item will net you a nice share of their respective resource, which you'll need for reaching the goal in some levels, or to put towards building things in others.But now here's the big twist that sets Cavemania apart from other match-three adventures just like it: your Chieftan character also occupies a space on this changing game board, and you'll need to utilize his position in order to do battle or protect delicate structures from meeting their end in the harsh realities of nature. What's cool about this is that you're always able to make any move on the board that you want, and permanently swap any two items regardless of whether they make a match or not.This heightens the overall strategy of the game to exciting new levels: for instance, you might opt out of farming new resources for a few moves, if the current situation calls for you to move you Chieftan into fighting position with the deadly beasts and wildlife that also populate the game board from time to time; or conversely, you might want to move an injured Chieftan away from any harm until you can better gather your bearings. Your characters will automatically attack an enemy whenever they are in close range (one square away, either adjacent or diagonally), but be careful because the enemies will also be able to do exactly the same! Luckily, matching four or more like-items in a single move will reward you with a rare blue crystal, which can then be used at will to unleash a particularly devastating attack on your unsuspecting foes.

    While most gamers out there this week are still trying to catch up on all of the lost sleep from Grand Theft Auto V's big midnight release, I've been drinking obscene amounts of caffeine in preparation for another big midnight release: all of tonight's new iOS games!So don't mind me if I seem a little tired tomorrow (or ifI make somecarelesss mistackes in mye diting), because I'm going to be up all night flinging birds past the boundaries of space, slashing my way through the next generation of mobile gaming, and rolling my robot pal down all sorts of winding tracks in the name of science and technology. And the best news of all is that I don't even have to go out in the cold and stand in some long line; all you need for the midnight release of a new mobile game is a nice comfy couch and a warm pair of pajamas!

    Get your engines ready, because Gameloft has just announced a sequel to their popular racing simulation franchise, GT Racing. Developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience is said to contain a massive collection of 67 cars from 35 car manufacturers, which players can use to race around a number of real world tracks in both of the sequel's expansive single-play and multiplayer modes.Now, if you might be among those wondering why the upcoming sequel has been given the subheading of "The Real Car Experience," then I would kindly like to direct your attention to the announcement trailer for GT Racing 2 right over there at the bottom of this paragraph. See all those cars racing around at exhilarating speeds in the video? Well those amazing graphics look pretty real if you ask me!No specific platforms have been announced alongside the big reveal of GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience just yet, but we can expect to get our real-car-racing on sometime this fall. And in the meantime, I'll be setting up some traffic cones outside so I can practice my parallel parking skills: this is going to be the real car experience after all!

    Having always been a true dog person at heart, I was surprised to find myself actually warming up to cats in more recent years. But if someone had told me how diligent and heroic that some cats can be when something they love is put on the line, then I might have been on board with those fierce little felines from the very beginning! One part matching game, and one part strategy via upgrades, Combat Cats may be a little too simple for some, but its retro-infused greatness and progressive challenge are still certain enough to give you all that they've got for the short time it lasts.A mysterious "Catnipper" has stolen the world's supply of catnip, and to make matters worse, a legion of evil fish creatures have picked this exact moment to unleash their revenge, as your desperate cats take to the skies to retrieve the hot commodity that was taken from them. The story of the game is lighthearted and fun, and the means of single-screen storytelling is a wonderfully nostalgic callback to old NES adventures of yesteryear. The equally retro-inspired chiptune soundtrack is just as strong, and will get stuck in your head long after your cats slip into a catnip-induced catnap at the end of their journey.The gameplay of Combat Cats is fairly straightforward. At the start of every level, you'll be presented with a large grid of different pixelated square icons: each one a different color and representative of a specific attack that your cat fighter will be able to pull off. Orange constitutes a flame attack, blue is a freeze ray, green is a cloud of poison, and purple is a flurry of rockets. You make moves by simply tapping on any single tile that you wish on the screen, which instantly replaces it with a separated placeholder tile that is always raring to go. Matching four or more like-tiles will execute that respective attack and move you one step closer towards reaching your goal.
