ngmoco’s Skyfall enters public beta

When it comes to Android games to look forward to in 2012, few have seemed to have as much potential as ngmoco's freemium RPG Skyfall. The game entered closed beta a while ago, but no word was ever given on when it would move into a more public beta. As it turns out, it'll be doing so right… NOW!

Humble Bundle for Android launches, also playable on desktops

Bundles seem to be the lifeblood of the indie scene lately, with things like Indie Royale and The Humble Indie Bundle introducing gamers to great collections of games at less than rock bottom prices. Now the makers of the latter have turned their eyes towards the mobile scene, and have today unveiled the Humble Bundle for Android.

Rovio treats piracy like free marketing

There's been an interesting tidbit floating around the internet over the last 24 hours that stems from a talk Rovio CEO Mikael Hed gave at the Midem conference in Cannes. When discussing piracy, Hed took a stance you don't often hear from his side of the industry; "Piracy may not be a bad thing: it can get us more business at the end of the day."

SOL: Exodus Review

When I was a kid I grew up playing on a Tandy 1000 home computer. It wasn't much to look at, my display had a limited color palette, and there wasn't really anything beyond Space Quest II or Wheel of Fortune that it could run. But it was mine, and I loved it. Then I walked into Radio Shack one day and saw X-Wing running on a floor model. After this, I quickly learned the meaning of the word "upgrade."

Triple Town developer files copyright infringement suit over Yeti Town

With the rampant plagiarism that goes on in game development, something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. David Edery, CEO of Spry Fox, has just confirmed on his blog that his company has filed a copyright infringement suit against 6Waves LOLAPPS in regards to the latter's release of Yeti Town, a game that clearly borrowed everything that was original about Spry Fox's Triple Town, slapped on a fresh coat of paint, and made it to the App Store first.

Pixeljunk Eden is coming to PC next week

If you're a PlayStation 3 owner, there's a pretty good chance that you've long ago realized that Pixeljunk always equals genius. For years now, the Q-Games series of innovative and wonderfully fresh indie games has remained exclusively available on the PlayStation Network. That seemed to change earlier this year when Pixeljunk Monsters, a great tower defense experience, was announced as coming to Facebook. Now it looks like another Pixeljunk title is about to leap from the PS3 to your desktops.
