    For all of the allegations lobbed their ways about cloning and copying, Zynga sure knows how to be protective when it comes to their own material.  Take the 'Ville branding, for example.  You can dispute and debate all you want when it comes to how many "influences" went in to making games like FarmVille and CityVille - but there's no questioning that the 'Ville branding is distinctly Zynga's own.

    I've been playing a lot of Marvel: Avengers Alliance recently.  Call it a guilty pleasure, but as a superhero nerd and an RPG fan, I have a hard time walking away from Playdom's pairing of the two.  Also, their Avengers vs. X-Men mission set has kind of dug its claws into me in that "gotta complete'em all!" way that Facebook games sometimes do.  So last week, I sat down to write up a new article: 5 characters we'd love to see in Marvel: Avengers Alliance.

    Crazy Taxi is a game that's always held a special place in my heart.  When people talk about the frenzied, accessible gameplay of days gone by, my mind often goes to the days I'd plunk quarter after quarter into Crazy Taxi at the arcades.  Then later, I'd sink hour after hour into the Dreamcast release.  Even as recently as Steam's Big Picture release last month, I found myself getting back behind the wheel of a taxi cab.  So when SEGA tipped us off about an iOS release, you'd better believe I jumped at the chance to check it out.

    Two weeks ago Rovio released Bad Piggies to the App Store - and when Rovio releases a game, the rest of the mobile gaming world turns into a ghost town.  It's like an old cowboy movie, when the mean ol' desperados come to town and everybody scatters.  And just like in those movies, once it's safe to come out, everybody floods back into the streets.
