    There was a time - let's call it "the nineties" - when Solitaire was seemed like the most popular PC game of all. Not because people loved it, mind you, but because it was free and came bundled with Windows. Still though, people grew to love it. As a classic card game that we're all familiar with, the "just one more game" pull of solitaire has always been hard to avoid.Despite its popularity, solitaire went years before it got a truly decent upgrade. Plenty of gamemakers had tried, mind you, but it took Big Fish Games to really hit on a winning formula. Combining elements of golf and cards, the original Fairway Solitaire debuted back in 2007 and has since been followed by a litany of releases. You probably know it best by its second iteration, which became something of a cult classic after its port to mobile devices back in 2012. If you've played either of these, there's a good chance that you already know that Big Fish + solitaire is a winning combination.Fairway Solitaire Blast is the latest release in the franchise, and the first that's built from the ground up with mobile gamers in mind. In fact, at the time of this writing, it's a mobile exclusive.

    Strategy gamers, prepare yourselves for a double dose of fun. Two of the best-loved PC games of the last few years have just hit the iPad, and both games seems as if they were designed from the ground-up with tablets in mind (and in the case of Hearthstone, it really was!)FTL is a spaceship management roguelike-like that send players on a trip through the galaxy, on a quest to survive as long as they can. It was incredibly well-received in its 2012 debut (and earned four stars here at Gamezebo), but the iPad version took its sweet time coming out. Why? Because this is the debut of FTL: Advanced Edition.If you already own the PC version, Advanced Edition is available as a free expansion today as well - and it brings oodles and oodles of changes. I could list them here, but why bother when the developer has done a great job of it right here?

    I hate the word 'roguelike.' Judging by the recent adoption of new phrases like 'YOLO' and 'procedural death labyrinth,' it seems I'm not alone in this (though it's not exactly like that last one rolls off the tongue, either). Regardless of how I feel about the terms we use to describe it though, I very much like what the genre represents: the challenge of outdoing your own personal best.Dungeon of the Endless is very much a roguelike at its heart - you'll face procedurally generated stages, plenty of treasure discovery, and permanent death - but it manages to bring something new to the genre that gives it a truly unique appeal: controlling multiple characters at once.Rather than controlling a single hero in a "fight or die" scenario, players start with two characters to swap between and will uncover more as they proceed deeper and deeper into the game. With different skillsets and upgrades, players will balance their time between both, employing tactics that will make or break them.But we're getting ahead of ourselves - I haven't even told you what Dungeon of the Endless is about!

    2048 is the #1 game on Google Play and the App Store, and that's a damned travesty.Our story starts a little over seven weeks ago. Sirvo LLC, better known as Greg Wohlwend and Asher Vollmer, released their second mobile game collaboration: Threes!. It was a great little puzzle game that had the perfect mix of addictive and charming that can help a game shoot to the top of the App Store. And it did. Seemingly within hours, this indie darling jumped to the #1 spot - and not just any #1 spot, but the #1 spot on the paid games list.Rumors of paid mobile gaming's death, it would seem, were greatly exaggerated.Or at least they would have been if it weren't for 2048.A UI designer and web developer, Gabriele Cirulli "created" 2048 in the span of a weekend. You may have noticed my use of quotation marks there. That's because, while he no doubt programmed the game and did the art, the creative process - aka developing an original idea and making it work - lays at the feet of Team Sirvo.Yes indeed: 2048 is a clone of Threes.
