    Amazing Alex is a dark, macabre story. One day, Casey from Casey's Contraptions simply disappears without a word. His family is worried sick. They search everywhere, fearing the worst. Suddenly, they find him on the side of the road! Except it isn't him, is it? He's unharmed and innocent, to be sure. And happy. A little too happy. Like Casey though, he gets right back to tinkering with toys and home brewing elaborate machines, building more than ever. All with a hollow, dead-eyed smile on his face. What happened to their son!?

    On one hand, Andreas Illiger has put us in a tough position. By promising the world "Tiny Wings 2," and instead delivering an update to his original, high-flying smash hit, he's cut us off at the pass where a review is concerned. You see, we tend play and rate a game only if it's an entirely new beast, so to speak. On the other hand, however? We just got more Tiny Wings! That's awesome.

    When I say I love Hidden Path's quintessential strategy title Defense Grid, I mean it. Seriously. Don't threaten me with the age old "why don't you marry it already?" because I just might. This is the kind of game that prompts famous figures like Magic: The Gathering creator Richard Garfield to proclaim in a video promoting its sequel that he "needs more Defense Grid." Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. There might be a Defense Grid sequel!

    Have you ever finished a great meal at a nice restaurant and thought, "you know, there's nothing more I'd like to do right now than a joint like this?" Me neither. And yet Kairosoft has the audacity to bring us The Sushi Spinnery... a game that has us slaving away in the role of the world's next great sushi master. Am I just bitter because this thing has me addicted!? Maybe.

    When I booted up Arizona Rose and the Pirates' Riddles, I wasn't expecting a lot. And I say that in the nicest way possible. Buoyed up by the introduction's lilting, seaworthy tunes and kitschy story (you're the "world's best treasure hunter!"), I was willing to give myself over to some hunting, finding, and light puzzling inside an over-the-top story that served as a break from the genre's moody tendencies. So when I say this game under delivers on even those expectations, you'll have an idea of what you're in for.
