The now-classic title (released as Jet Grind Radio in the US and Canada) won the hearts and minds of gamers with its then-unprecedented cel-shaded visuals, and unique, graffiti-centric plotline. Well, Dreamcast owners (all 10 of you), I have good news: Jet Set Radio is back.

    It's no great secret that I'm a big fan of indie developer Whitaker Trebella's Polymer. Part Rubik's Cube, part Lego, the game tickles both right brain and left brain alike. Besides which, Trebella is a great example of pluck and determination: he wanted to learn how to design a game...so he did! So while many are poring over the new releases in today's App Store deluge, it's the "update" section of my iPad that has me excited.

    Whenever a larger, established developer decides to strike out on their own and "go indie," it always warms the cockles of my heart. Often, working for a larger entity means a greater degree of creative restraint. So imagine my delight when I find out  today that former Epic Games lead gameplay designer Lee Perry is hitting the road, armed with only his hobo bindlestiff and a pack of ramen. And by that, I mean a gorgeous Unreal 3 Engine title in the works.

    Amazing Alex is a puzzle game from Rovio, which makes use of the Casey's Contraption IP the company purchased from independent developer Snappy Touch. With gameplay that would make Rube Goldberg proud, you play as the titular, mischevous Alex, combining household items, toys, and fanciful tools to make elaborate machines which solve basic household tasks. If your mental machine is a little rusty, however, don't worry! Gamezebo's quick start guide will give you all the instructions, tips, tricks, and info necessary to do well. Amazing, even!

    Since its explosive Kickstarter success, the OUYA - an upcoming, $99 Android console - has been everywhere. With nearly five million dollars raised in just over a week [at the time of writing], it's not hard to argue that people are excited about the prospect of changing the state of gaming on their TV. And yet, the purportedly disruptive product has its fair share of critics. Those who insist there are too many practical reasons preventing the console from attaining its price point, delivering consistent experiences, and proving secure for gamers and developers.

And its catchy, harmless, twisted tunes are stuck in your head, aren't they? Pacing unstoppably around your brain. Well, don't say I didn't warn you.
