    A week ago, I reported on the speculation that Square Enix's cult classic RPG The World Ends With You would be making the jump from Nintendo DS to iOS. As it turns out, speculation was right! So for most of the days that followed, I've been lost in dystopian Shibuya, Japan, determined to see if this version - dubbed Solo Remix - would be as strong an offering as the original. As it turns out, it isn't: it's much stronger.

    Josh Presseisen's Crescent Moon Games got its start with the help of a publisher. In 2009, Chillingo released the team's fledgling title Ravensword: The Fallen King, jump starting what is now a 15-game library of original and third party titles.Last night, an excited Presseisen and I talked about the launch of Forest Moon Games: his company's recently revealed 2D-focused publishing label revving up this fall. Things, it seems, have come full circle for Presseisen; and no one is more surprised than he.

    Colin Northway has a fascination with machination. His first title was the flash hit Fantastic Contraption, which had players constructing makeshift vehicles to guide unassuming shapes to safety. The game quickly became an internet hit, and spawned not only sequels, but curiosity about how the indie developer would follow it up. Now, Northway Games is back with Incredipede: an experience every bit as much about construction, but of a vastly different nature.

    During E3, Editor-in-Chief Jim Squires stuck it to Microsoft for neglecting Windows 8 as a gaming destination. Well it seems the company was listening (that's our story and we're sticking to it). Just prior to writing, company spokesperson Major Nelson took to his blog to announce 40 titles headed to "any Windows 8 PC, laptop, or tablet" beginning October 26th. Microsoft fans? Your casual games have arrived.

    I'd like to take this opportunity to formally announce that Gamezebo is switching focus and becoming a film-centric website. Okay, that's a lie, but if there was any movie that might get me to consider it, it would be Kooky. Released on iTunes yesterday by Amanita Design, the feature-length puppet film tells the story of a lost stuff bear's quest to survive in a fantastical woodland wilderness. And it's absolutely oozing with heart.
