    I have a confession: I've never played Minecraft. In fact, I probably never will play Minecraft. I love the concept of boundless creation, but its particular brand of retro-looking sandbox play just doesn't appeal to me. No, I'm more of a Little Big Planet kind of person; that game allows for wonderful, whimsical creation but inside a world of more clever machinations. Wait a minute, what!? There's a game that combines them both?

    As if the party weren't crowded enough, folks, say hello to another app store. Last night, Sony launched their long-time-coming PlayStation Mobile service for "PlayStation Certified" Android devices and PlayStation Vita. In a newly launched section of their website branded with the moniker "Take Back Mobile Gaming," the company has also gone on to explain the ethos behind PSM, and reveal the slate of available titles.

    Catch-22 has me mesmerized, and I can't figure out why.  Part twitch arcade title, part puzzle, part Impressionist painting, it's caught somewhere between addictive and otherworldly. In fact, it's the kind of experience I don't even want to ruin by attempting to pigeonhole it into a rating, and a simplified list of pros and cons. I wish there was a phrase to describe this kind of predicament.

If independent developer Anarchy Enterprises has anything to say about it, that may soon be a reality. After launching dozens of games since the debut of their first project, Moon Tycoon, in 2001, the studio is turning to the public to crowd-source not only the funds for their next project, but the creative ownership of it too.
