    It's hard to create a turn-based RPG that stands out from the competition. No matter how polished, deep, and exciting a game is, it's hard to overcome the sensation that everything has been done before. Silver Nornir rises up and faces that challenge head-on. The storytelling leaves much to be desired, but an enjoyable cast of characters and a familiar—yet deep—battle system create an experience worth checking out.

    You don't often hear people consider role-playing games to be fun. They can be captivating, engrossing, or intense, but the fun factor is often overlooked. It's easy to ignore how fun many RPGs are until you've played one that's severely lacking in that area. Ark of the Ages is a lot of things—some good, some bad—but its severe lack of fun keeps it from being so much better.

    Swimming around, eating colorful shapes, and chasing your own tail doesn't sound like an action-packed experience. Luckily, The Sparkle 2: Evo isn't based on action. Nor is it based around a story.  Nor is it based on deep, challenging gameplay.  The main focus of The Sparkle 2: Evo is swimming around, eating colorful shapes, and occasionally chasing your tail. Even if that's not your ideal way to spend a Friday night, there's certainly a bit of magic to it.

    The automatic runner is a genre that refuses to die. There's little innovation that takes place among this vast group of games. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as some of the best games are more polished than they are innovative. Then there's Bloody Epic, a brave attempt at taking an otherwise bland runner and fusing it with solid RPG elements. The result is a game overflowing with ambition, but lacking in polish.

    Galactic Express is built around one premise: Gathering a bunch of Tetris blocks, loading them up on a bunch of cargo ships, and blasting them across the galaxy. This amusing idea is backed up by accessible gameplay, colorful graphics, and a pleasing soundtrack. It's not without a few issues, but Galactic Express provides great service and great fun.

    The mobile landscape is overpopulated with games based around jumping straight up over and over. It feels like a blast of fresh air when a game breaks away from the vertical jumping pattern and tries something new.  In the case of Pirates: Captain Clumsy, the only major change to the formula was replacing jumping with falling. This change works wonders, but the Captain's lust for gold manages to get the better of him.
