    Yesterday, we reported Zynga bought out Draw Something developer OMGPOP for $210 million ($180 million plus another $30 million in employee payouts). Earlier today, Macquarie analyst Ben Schachter stated that the likeliest reason for such a high price point is a bidding war. Schachter pointed out that, despite Draw Something's popularity boom over the past few weeks, OMGPOP's $200 million price tag seem a little steep.

The ESA feels these summer programs have been increasing thanks to the rise in game design careers, along with the focus of STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.

    January's Run Roo Run introduced the mobile gaming world to a great automatic side-scrolling platformer, and one of the best mobile games we've seen to date, period. Unfortunately the game was an iOS exclusive, so Android owners had to look elsewhere. MoMinis' Ninja Chicken wants to change that. What this game lacks in bells and whistles is made up for with sharp controls, colorful visuals, and challenging (but fair) levels. Occasional technical issues are all that really hold it back.

    Wargaming.net's free-to-play MMO World of Tanks is a hit, with over 20 million registered users. According to Wargaming's CEO Victor Kislyi, the game is generating "double digit" million dollars in profit each month. The company has grown along with the game, too: over the past year and a half, Wargaming has expanded from 120 employees (nearly all located in Minsk) to over 800 staff members worldwide.

    Draw Something is more than a simple Pictionary clone. While it stems off the same concept that has been used over and over, there are no time limits and no punishments for incorrect guesses. These aspects, along with the one-on-one setting, remove any sense of competition from the game. The resulting experience is less a game, and more an insight into individual personalities.

    Your Doodles Are Bugged! is a puzzle game for the PC that proves the pen is mightier than the sword...sometimes. What starts off as an entertaining and underused concept for a puzzle game quickly gets a bit bogged down by some bugs, pun intended. But those who have the patience to plow through a long, boring story mode will gain full access to an amazing level creator, easily the best feature this game has to offer.

The game's design is representative of that concept, but comparing a game to one of the legendary word games and to PopCap's ball-shooting hit leads to some high expectations. Like the great word games, Burble provides its fair share of challenges. Unfortunately, there's some extra challenge that doesn't come from the concept of the game. You also need to overcome randomness, inferior control, and poorly-placed ads.
