    For a puzzle game to really succeed, it either has to be so simple it's sublime (see Bejeweled or Tetris) or loaded with depth (Jewel Quest, Ancient Quest of Saqqarah). Anything in between, and things get a little murky. The awkwardly-titled Dreamsdwell Stories, unfortunately, falls into that middle ground.The premise is quite sound. Make chains of same-colored spheres three or longer to make them disappear. When they're connected they form a beam of light that cannot be crossed, so your lines have to be continuous. Clear all gold-rimmed spheres to end a level before the timer runs out to pass.

But Solitaire for Dummies shows that there are many different ways to play the game.Similar to the other Dummies titles from Beanbag Studios, Solitaire for Dummies is an easy way to learn many versions of the game. And boy, are the a lot of ways to play. The game offers ten different modes: Klondike, Pyramid, Scorpion, Penguin, Free Cell, Canfield, Yukon, Monte Carlo, Accordion and Golf.

    Previously released as Scrubbles to a lukewarm reception, re-engineered for mobile and Facebook where it became a cult classic, and now re-released as a download, Bubble Town is an expansion of marble popping classics like Bust-a-Move.When a developer makes a game that actually tries to do something different, it's nice when the attempt actually works out. Bubble Town is a a great example of what happens when almost everything goes right.The premise is the same: shoot a colored ball and make chains of three or more. Extra balls hanging off the chain are dropped and add bonuses. Try to clear the whole board before the balls drop below the line at the bottom of the screen.

    The brick-busting genre is one of gaming's oldest chestnuts, and this time Strike Ball 3 is up. The third game in the series from Russian developer Owl Games, Strike Ball 3 builds upon its predecessors very well.The original Strike Ball was a rudimentary 3D ball-breaker, but provided decent fun. The sequel, Strike Ball 2 was an enormous step up from the original that featured a slew of power-ups and great level design.It must be said that compared to the step up from the original to the sequel, Strike Ball 3 is less revolutionary compared to Strike Ball 2. However, the changes are very important, and fundamentally alter the gameplay.
