    A good game is like a cake. There is a delicate balance, an alchemy, an art. Mix just the right ingredients together, bake it just right, and it tastes delicious. Hidden Island is like an underbaked cake: it's got all the right ingredients, but hasn't been in the oven long enough.Resembling PlayFirst's Zenerchi at first glance - indeed, one could argue "heavily borrowed" - Hidden Island is a match-three using concentric circles made up of colored segments. They stack five around, and five deep, looking like a well. The goal is to make matches of three like-colors, either vertically towards the middle of the well, or in a ring horizontally.

    Just in time for spring, Fugazo brings us Flower Paradise, a game that allows you to create your very own exotic gardens, without all the backaches, sunburn and dirt getting under your fingernails.Essentially a match-three and box-builder game two-in-one, Flower Paradise retreads a lot of ground we've seen before, but does it in such a tasteful, well-executed way that it makes for a very relaxing, zen-like experience.Flower Paradise's production values are very much like the vibe the game exudes: clean and neat without being ostentatious. The music is a cross between Asian and light jazz, relaxing and helping to set the mood for the natural beauty you are going to create.

    Physics-based puzzle games like Peggle have proven to be very successful, but an integral part of Peggle's gameplay was the random elements of chance that made each game different. Take away that element, and you end up with Bumps.Essentially a large series of  drop puzzles, Bumps is about dropping colored balls onto a series of platforms and letting the games excellent physics engine work its magic to collect like-colored keys. (The keys unlock cages filled with captured Bumps that are being stored away to be eaten by some alien invasion, but other than the opening sequence, it's just a foil for the gameplay.)

    The goal of most platform games is to go from left to right until you reach a goal. In And Yet It Moves, you're tasked with pretty much the same thing. The only difference is, getting to the right is anything but straightforward.And Yet It Moves is really three games in one. At its heart, the game is a traditional platformer, with simple controls - the A and D keys move you left and right, W key jumps - with checkpoints to navigate you to the next area.

    Created by developer Jonathan Blow over a period of several years, Braid was a darling of the independent games circuit, and made a huge splash when it appeared in the Xbox Live Arcade download service last year. After several months, the game is now available for PC users, and if you haven't played it yet, it's worth the wait.
