      Metal Slug 2 Review

      By David Oxford

The simplest way to describe Metal Slug 2, and the Metal Slug series in general, is to say that it takes a page out of Contra's playbook, but makes the idea its own in some ways.

      Cracking Sands Review

      By David Oxford

Despite touting itself as "this year's most hotly anticipated racer" (January isn't even over yet), Cracking Sands sings a familiar tune across its dusty landscapes: A game which seems like it might have had some potential, but instead wound up falling well short of it.

      Amazing Ants Review

      By David Oxford

Amazing Ants reminds us a bit of the game Lemmings: You tap the ants on the screen to get them moving, and they don't stop until they reach their goal. Along the way, you can use different items, obstacles, and abilities to help see them through their goal of collecting all the fruit in each area and proceeding to the exit in an orderly fashion.

      Catch the Ark Review

      By David Oxford

Culture has given the tale of Noah's Ark some odd treatment over the years, regarding it almost as something wholesome. Think about it: It's basically a story of widespread genocide of nearly every living thing on Earth, yet still winds up on an infant's t-shirt. Granted, it's probably the idea of a bunch of animals with a kindly old man on a boat that does the trick, but even then, the reason they're all there in the first place is to-- *ahem* --repopulate the Earth, a concept likely a little over the heads of the age bracket this stuff is made for.

      Legend of Pandora Review

      By David Oxford

For better or worse, Legend of Pandora makes no bones about what it is: A Zelda clone. That in itself isn't necessarily a bad thing, as a brush with the greatness that is Zelda helped pave the way for such fare as Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, and more recently, 3D Dot Game Heroes. Unfortunately, however, Legend of Pandora is none of these, nor does it approach them.

      Power Rangers Legends Review

      By David Oxford

After a great showing with Power Rangers: Samurai Steel, Saban has gone back to the well for more explosive spandex-clad martial arts action with Power Rangers Legends. Unfortunately, it seems that Timmy—er, Tommy—and the rest of the Rangers have fallen down this particular well.

      Magic Orbz Review

      By David Oxford

Magic Orbz is a PlayStation Network game that has just made the leap to iOS. It's also the latest in a lineage of games which trace their roots back to Breakout, which in itself is like a single-player take on Pong.

      Nomsters Review

      By David Oxford

Welcome to the world of Nomsters, where the eponymous creatures like to dine on such fruits as cherries, bananas, and watermelons--and where the villainous Fruit Fly Army seeks to claim the fruits as their own.
