    Awem Studio is back with The Island: Castaway 2, although the title is only half appropriate for this sequel. In contrast to the first part of this adventure/simulation-series you are now playing as a young member of a native tribe on the already familiar island. The player takes control of Yati, an orphan who has been brought up by the whole tribe. Yati has lived a sheltered life until things begin to change when strangers enter the small village. Haunted by hallucinations, Yati has to decide what to make of his life.

I'm not talking about the rapid growth and increasing relevance of social games, nor the rise of hidden object adventures as the dominant genre. I'm talking about the slow but very obvious disappearance of unique and daring casual games in general - at least when it comes to PC and Mac downloads. Instead of saving an island after a natural disaster, the the new game introduces pump stations, nuclear power plants, large apartments and people as well as animals in danger. The game is very entertaining and unique, in spite of some nagging issues.
