    Kabam developing mobile game based on Fast & Furious 6

    Kabam, the studio behind games like Arcane Empires and Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North, appears to be hard at work on a mobile game based on the upcoming Fast and Furious 6. Precious little is known about the game, but it seems probable that it will feature lots of cars, lots of racing, and if we're lucky, lots of explosions.

    Despite only being around for a few months each, CityVille 2, Party Place, and The Friend Game are all going to be shut down. The announcement was made earlier today during an earnings call, and in the words of Zynga CFO Mark Vranesh—as reported by Inside Social Games—"CityVille 2 missed our expectations despite pushing the envelope in 3D gaming and both The Friend Game and Party Place failed to achieve the mass market appeal Zynga franchise are known for."

    OUYA console coming soon to a store near you

    The folks behind the OUYA announced earlier today that the Android-based console will be available later this year in select retail locations. This comes as a bit of a surprise given its origins on Kickstarter, but it's good news all the same. Developers will likely have a wider audience to peddle their wares to, and those who missed out on the Kickstarter can pick up the console without much trouble.

    Thomas Was Alone developer Mike Bithell leaves studio job, goes full indie

    Thomas Was Alone was our favorite platformer of last year, but critical praise doesn't always indicate good sales numbers. Well, as it turns out, the game must have sold a decent amount: Mike Bithell, the one-man developer behind Thomas Was Alone, has decided to quit his day job as lead designer at Bossa Studios to focus on indie development.

    The original After Burner was a smash hit when it hit arcades in the '80s. This is partly because the cabinet was amazing, but mostly because the game itself was an excellent flight sim. And while iOS users may be out of luck when it comes to playing it from the comfort of their smartphone and/or tablet, it looks like After Burner Climax, a sequel released in 2006, will be making its way on over to Apple's platform. Bring on the dogfights!
