    Games release on the App Store all the time, and unfortunately not every single one merits a review. So what makes Shadow Escaper so special? Well, first and foremost, it was developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind the .hack series, quite a few Naruto games, and the unbelievably crazy Asura's Wrath. Secondly—and not unlike Asura's Wrath—its premise is downright insane. That insanity doesn't quite make up for all of the game's flaws, but I'll be darned if it doesn't come close.

    I have to give Zen Studios credit. Not only are they making Star Wars Pinball, but they're basing the tables on characters and films that fans actually care about (no offense, Jar Jar Binks). At launch, players will be able to shoot steel balls around play fields featuring The Empire Strikes Back, The Clone Wars, and the eternally awesome Boba Fett. The game's latest trailer showcases the latter of those three, and it has everything a Fett fanatic could hope for. It's Fett-tastic, I suppose you could say.

    It's been argued that horror and mobile don't mix. That it's much too hard to become fully immersed - and, by extension, scared - in an experience when the screen you're playing on is only a few inches big. Personally, I think that's a load of horsepucky. Games like Square Enix's Nanashi no Game have proven that a horror game doesn't have to be played on a massive screen to be frightening. And if its gameplay trailer is anything to go by, the upcoming In Fear I Trust for iOS will hammer that point home even more.

    When developer Almost Human began work on new content for Legend of Grimrock, the plan was to release it as DLC. But the scope of that content continued to grow, and the studio decided it best to just release a new game entirely. Legend of Grimrock 2 is that game, and while details are scarce, the chances of us traversing a dank dungeon once again are pretty good.

    As a fan of free things, this news is particularly exciting to me. Both the regular and HD versions of Plants vs. Zombies for iOS are currently available for the low cost of nothing. If you exclude that awesome Halloween promotion from last year, this is the first time the game has gone free.
