    While playing Stoneship it actually took a little bit for me to realize that the pirates in the game were the enemies and not who I was playing as. I guess my love for pirates and the natural cultural inclination to romanticize them just left me with the assumption that if anyone here was gonna be a pirate, it'd be me. Alas, there are no ARRRR's! to be uttered from the players... instead when you hear that, it usually means a battle is coming.

    I'm not going to beat around the bush here, telling me the goal of your game is to gain enlightenment through solving math problems might be setting a bar that's simply to high to reach. I can learn something while solving math problems, or hone my skills at them. Heck, I can even have fun solving math problems. But gain enlightenment? That's a tall order Numulus, a tall one indeed.

    They say that history is written by the victors. In playing Squawk I can only imagine future generations will read about my phat parrot rolling skills, and how my ability to steer said parrot around sharks and into coins was unparalleled. Songs will be sung of the adventures my rotund parrot and I have undertaken, lifting the spirits of the downtrodden. Or, maybe since I'm just talking about a browser game I might be getting a little ahead of myself. Or am I?

    I've never had the chance to play the Kingsburg: Serving the Crown board game before. Chalk it up to a combination of never owning the game (expensive) and not having anyone else around to play it with anyway. Such is the common issue with playing board games it seems, which is what makes it so awesome that these titles are making their way to the App Store. Now I can chalk another highly regarded board game off my "to be played" list!

    If you were fortunate enough to enjoy the game Everlands, you'll find many similarities here in Neuroshima Hex. They're both hex based tactical games where you'll be placing tiles and attacking your opponents. But where Everlands used cute animals as your units, Neuroshima Hex uses proper military might. Well, maybe not "proper," but they're soldiers, so the fact that they're killing each other makes a little more sense.

Sometimes there's a princess to rescue, but most of the time it just seems you're dodging something trying to kill you and returning the favor by jumping on their heads.     Up until now I've never played a match-3 puzzle tactical rpg before, but since I've played ChronoSgear I suppose I can scratch that very specific genre off my list. It's an interesting mash-up of genres that in all honesty shouldn't work, yet somehow really does. If you're a fan of match-3 puzzlers or tactical combat games then you're bound to find something interesting in this totally unique offering.

    Ever dial into a BBS in the early 90's? The satisfying screech of your modem connecting and the subsequent trickle of text across your screen at a screaming 2400 baud? Then you most likely played the game Trade Wars. It was a text based game played against other users of the BBS where you buy and sell goods while travelling through space. Why do I bring this up? Because Star Shipping Inc. is Trade Wars with graphics ...and no one else to play with.
