    I'd admit to being a bit nervous the first time I sat down to check out Carcassonne on my Android phone. I'm a big fan of the game, and have played more than a fair share of both the board game and the iOS version. On top of that, I routinely refer to the iOS version as one of the best examples of board game to touch screen conversion success stories. So with all those expectations and hope, it's good news that the first thing I said after playing a game was "whew."

    Life hasn't been good for inFamous Anarchy, the Facebook tie in to the recently released Playstation 3 game inFamous 2. There was supposed to be all kinds of cool cross platform unlocks and progression between the two games, but just as the game was coming out the Playstation Network was taken down by hackers and stayed that way for weeks. Once service was restored the world largely forgot about Anarchy's hooks.

    As someone who absolutely loved Game Dev Story and Grand Prix Story, yet really didn't care for Hot Springs Story, I was very curious which type of Kairsoft game would rear its head in Pocket Academy. Would it be the compelling carrot on a stick experiences I enjoyed? Or the build-it-and-they-will-come gameplay that left so much to be desired. Well, you can probably tell from the score which game this is... and that's a real shame.

    I know I've said this a few times already, but I'm absolutely in love with the fact that a lot of my favorite board and card games are making their way to the iPad. What makes me even happier is that, as time goes by, the conversions are just getting better and better. Enter Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer, which is a deck building game that I have zero bad things to say about. So what's a deck building game exactly? Well, I'm so glad you asked!

    Assassins of the Caribbean would've been a perfect title for Backstab. In case you need it spelled out for you, that's because it's a mash-up of Assassin's Creed gameplay set in a world plucked right out of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie universe. It's a mix that sounds like a pure winner, but some functional issues just make it.... eh.

    There's a word I kept coming back to over and over while playing 1-Bit Ninja. I just couldn't seem to shake it as I played though this game that looked like it belonged on the old Game Boy and felt like Super Mario Bros. The levels looked deceptively simple but became devilishly difficult, and still I couldn't shake the word out of my brain. As I struggled to complete a level my wife asked me what I thought of the game. "I think... I think it's brilliant," I said.

    Cordy is a side scrolling puzzle platformer where you play as, you guessed it, Cordy. His job is to get the power back on in his world - a big task for such a small guy! To do this you'll run around different levels, grabbing power cores that you can then use to power up different stations, opening up the exits to the levels.

    Memoir '44 Online is the digital version of the super popular two-player board game from Days of Wonder. Between Ticket to Ride and Small World on the iPad to this latest title, Days of Wonder has made a serious push into the video space and I for one couldn't be happier. Unlike those other titles, though, Memoir '44 Online is a free download and while it won't play on your iPad it will play on your PC, Mac or Linux machine.
