    Lost Chronicles: Fall of Caesar Review

    Fall of Caesar, the latest installment in the Lost Chronicles franchise, takes us to Ancient Rome as we enter the story just after Caesar's demise at the hands of Brutus and Cassius. You're an unnamed Roman who takes it upon himself to track down Brutus and make him answer for his crime. It's just unfortunate that your fun, like Caesar's, is cut short due to some killer puzzles.

    While Sudoku may be the current king of most newspapers, I've always had a soft spot for nonogram logic puzzles like those found in the game of Picross, and now, ColorCross. Like Sudoku, nonogram puzzles take place on a grid, but rather than tasking you with placing numbers in each square, you're instead filling each box with a different color, to create a larger, pixelated image when all is said and done. Unfortunately for ColorCross however, there just isn't enough here to recommend anyone new to the genre to try it.

    While you may have thought that witch was defeated at the end of Princess Isabella: A Witch's Curse, she's definitely not going down without a fight. After Isabella and the Prince begin raising their new baby girl, the witch plans her ultimate revenge, kidnapping the child and placing a curse not only over the castle, but also over Isabella's entire kingdom. The story here in Princess Isabella: Return of the Curse helps continue Isabella's overall quest for a peaceful life, and while it doesn't see many gameplay changes from the first game, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

    Putting it simply, Fallen Shadows has a decent premise from the outset, but quickly becomes an overcomplicated mess. You're the granddaughter of an elderly man who has gone missing. It's six months after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, and you take it upon yourself to travel to your former home to solve your grandfather's disappearance. From there, the story adds in voodoo, jazz music, old photography, beggars, street vendors and more. While Fallen Shadows seems to try and capture the spirit of Nola, it tries far too hard and fails in every way.

    Spring Bonus is a match-3 puzzle game that sees you helping the Easter Bunny melt away the cold snow and ice of winter to usher in Spring and a magic rainbow. Through 100 levels, you'll come across a large selection of items to match, and an even larger variety of board shapes on which you'll do it. For those looking for a straight-forward puzzle game without any frills, this is a nice place to look, but those wanting a bit more depth might be disappointed.

    Even the most casual fan of hidden object games has likely become far too familiar with the dark and dreary theme that a huge chunk of these games contain. Sure, Gravely Silent: House of Deadlock falls right in with the rest in terms of its graphical design and sad storyline, but the gameplay and storyline here definitely hold up until the end.
