    When you read the description of Burger Joint in the App Store they claim their game is the result if you "smashed Tetris and Bejeweled together," but that's a lie. In fact, Burger Joint is a direct imitation of the old NES and Gameboy title Yoshi, but without most of the fun and whimsy. This is a game which could have picked up the puzzle game mantle and done neat things with it, but instead opted to take the lazy way out and thus suffers for it.

    Square Enix is typically known for story-heavy JRPGs, but the mega-publisher is taking aim at the mobile space with the newly announced Guardian Cross. The company announced the existence of this new card battle game via their Facebook page, stating that the title will be released on iOS devices in the spring and will also eventually make its way to Android as well.

The rules are simple - indie developers are invited to submit their reimagined concepts for Pong, and the winner will receive $100,000 and the satisfaction of watching their idea be turned into a real iOS game published under the Atari brand.     It's always nice to report on success stories. That's why we're very happy to hear that Game Insight shot past the $50 million mark in 2011. The primary drivers of the company's success come from social hits such as Paradise Island and My Country. Game insight has stated that Paradise Island is pulling in over $1 million a month, and My Country generated $150,000 a week while it sat atop the iPad charts.

    If you happen to work for a company who believes their upcoming Facebook game is going to be a huge success, then you may want to pump the brakes. A new report from IHS Screen Digest Media Research seems to indicate that the party may be over for Facebook games. According to the report, Facebook gaming has taken a nosedive from its heyday in 2009 and 2010. Last year the percentage of Facebook users who were there for the games dropped precipitously from 50 percent to 25 percent, and things don't look to be turning around anytime soon.
