    Djorick's Curse is a match-three RPG in which you'll go spelunking through a monster-infested fantasy dungeon by drawing lines to connect swords, hearts, gold, armor and creatures of the darkest malevolence. That may sound familiar and with good reason, but aside from some possible balance issues, the game stands up pretty well on its own.

    The upcoming Space Qube promises to work on two levels. On the surface, it's a simple, fun shooter in which players control a space ship and try to shoot down as many aliens as possible. There are boss fights and various sorts of power-ups, and rather than using one of those annoying virtual thumbpads that everyone hates (well, I hate them), the whole thing is controlled simply by tilting your device.

    Dragon Summoner is another addition to the very crowded collectible card battle game genre. It hits all the same notes, offers up all the same kind of "gameplay" with all the same kind of illustrations, telling an epic tale of a land threatened by something or other that can only be saved by your valiant efforts, guided by a buxom and very powerful assistant who nonetheless can't seem to handle this situation on her own. It's not bad in the strictest sense, but it's the same old thing we've seen many times before.

    Towel Fight 2: The Monocle of Destiny is a smart, silly, crazy game packed with some of the most creatively bizarre dual-stick shooter action you'll ever run into. I'm not very good at it, but I keep going back to it, and I keep having fun. This game is a blast.

You'll assemble your forces from nine different classes, including the Mage, Crusader, Paladin, Archer and Swordsman, and then recruit one of six unique heroes, each with a unique ability, to lead it. Your army will be kept busy defending your castle from invading forces, and you'll also be able to send your warriors out on an endless number of quests to bring in more gold and resources.

The name comes from the famed early videogame Rogue, an ASCII-based proto-RPG that has inspired and influenced a remarkable number of games in the decades since and that's famous for being perfectly happy to kill players who get out of line, or just get unlucky.

    Yet Another Zombie Defense, an iOS version of a three-year-old Xbox 360 game, promises a mix of dual-stick shooter action with tower defense strategy in a one-man war against the ravenous undead. It doesn't quite live up to that billing, however, and while it does what it does pretty well, what it doesn't do is enough to keep it from making a serious claim to the kingship.
